There's a mass exodus of people leaving Nigeria in search of greener pastures, they up and sell all their properties and leave while preferring to be a barman or a cook in a restaurant than being a established businessman with a moving business making sizeable profits now why is this? First of all, state of the Nigeria naira (currency) is in shambles and due to the unmanaged rate of inflation some of its dinominations are no longer in use. For example, the Nigerian 5 naira note can no longer be used to purchase anything and When I say anything I mean nothing, in the past we use to have commodities like biscuits sell for five naira and a sachet of packaged water will sell for ₦5.
During the early 2000s we have the Nigerian kobo which is equivalent to the US cent and we had it in coins, nowadays the Nigerian Kobo has gone into extinction due to the continuous increase in the prices of everything. The government promised to devalue the naira so as to make the Kobo usable and tradable once again which means people can hold less money and buy equivalently with the denominatiom they have but then it's been more 20 years and most of the Nigerian naira is going into extinction and commodities for purchase are heading into the 20₦ denomination as even the use case for 10₦ naira is gradually reducing.
In a country where the currency is not stable it makes it difficult to see the true value of earning and because of lack of stability in the currency many are leaving the country for other places. Another thing would be lack of opportunities: the notion held by most Nigerians is that Nigeria simply do not have any opportunities to create wealth for young and vibrant people. The average government worker earns about 2.7 USD daily which translates to 30k₦ of minimum wage. Now this minimum wage are the government workers and there are many others who lives in poverty without a means to even earn close a dollars after a day's work.

One of the thriving business in Nigeria is transportation and people who go into this sector profits from the instability of fuel pump price to make their millions, but lately there's been a lot of regulations. The area or union boys extorts drivers thereby creating their own source of employment which is extorting drivers and bikers for using motor parks. Now some state government has added excessive regulations to biking or motor cycle transportation in Nigeria which is popularly called okada now this is using motorcycle to convey people from one place to another thereby having people pay. Now this business is the quickest for people who do not have a lot of money for investment and this has been a source of employment for many college graduates and now the government is banning this Means of transportation.
So the ability for people to create a viable means of employment opportunities for themselves without having millions to invest is why people are becoming poorer. Street hawking used to be a lucrative venture too but then it bad a lot of flaws and some states in Nigeria decided to ban it because of people using it to sell expired drugs and fake products. Now this isn't the problem. The truth is that government are up and banning means through which people makes money without establishing composite solutions and this is why anyone would believe opportunities are something that's difficult to come by. The Nigerian economic situation is as worse as the one we would find in Venezuela and people are mostly choosing to migrate rather than remain onboard.
In conclusion
I do not think every country in Europe or America is better than Nigeria. For example the laws of immigrations in countries like Italy, China, France, England and the US are very strict and sometimes this would frustrate anyone who expects it to be all sunshine. Infact I did a post a while back about migrating to another country in other to seek medical attention but then most of the feedback I got made me realise it can even be more difficult to thrive in another country due to their restrictions and limitations as being a foreigner. Many Nigerians seeking to go outside the country targets a green card but in this quest many have been jailed unjustly. In another post I'll be taking about making the tough choice as to whether to remain in Nigeria or migrate.
