Serangga ini termasuk dalam hama perusak tanaman, mengisap cairan tangkai bunga, dan juga mengisap cairan buah padi.

Ada yang lebih khas lagi dari kehidupan serangga ini yaitu : aroma yang sangat menyengat di hidung.
Yang membuat saya heran lagi, Jika kita tidak menyentunya, serangga ini tidak mengeluarkan bauknya.
Tapi, jika kita menyentuhnya maka aroma yang menyengat di serangga ini akan sangat terasa dihidung.
