So today finally was the day of Splinterlands land presale raffle. I was pretty excited for the event as I had a total of 7,804 lottery tickets sitting in my account from both the region of land I bought and from the rewards for providing liquidity to the DEC-ETH pair over on Uniswap. One in fifteen tickets was expected to be a winner, so I was bound to win at least some stuff during the raffle.
I was pretty nervous when I finally claimed my prices. While I didn't win one of the main prices (a tract or even a region of land) I'm still pretty pleased with what I got from my tickets:
A grand total of 543 items! That's about 14,3 raffle tickets per hit, so slightly better than what was to be expected. We don't know yet what value to expect from totems, although especially legendary totems are rumored to be extremely valuable, their price being seen at around the value of a gold foil legendary card.
Even if we don't factor in the totems at all, that still leaves me with 9 Land Plot Claims, 92 Untamed Booster Packs, and 110 Azamare Dice Packs. Let's look at the total value of that:

Keep in mind that these values are what the items are sold for if you directly from Splinterlands. Getting these from the market would cost quite a bit less. Nevertheless, that's a lot of value gained from something that was a free bonus on top of a purchase that I would have made either way. Throwing in the totems, I'd assume the total value of everything I've found here to be rather close to 1,000$!
Personally, I feel like the whole raffle was severely undermarketed. The value gained from these raffle tickets is obviously huge and I think it would have been a great way to sell some more plots of land if sufficient focus was put on marketing it. Nevertheless, I'm obviously extremely grateful and happy with the results!
Opening all these booster packs will not only take a lot of time, it also finally allows me to use all these potions I got from my quests and season rewards. To tell the truth, even with my considerable amount already collected, I don't have nearly enough for all the packs I've got today.
As I've learned a long time ago, you don't open packs without using potions. So from now on, I'll open a pack whenever I managed to collect 5 Alchemy and 5 Legendary Potions again. This way I'll even be happy about finding potions for quite a while.
