What up? This is my introduction to the Gods on Chain community. This is for the Gods Unchained Introduction Conest hosted by @ocdb. So - I got by NiftyPhill. As you could probably guess, my name is Phill. I joined Steemit in 2017 and was active for a while. Then life happened. I came back to find Hive in 2018 and started making content. I did a lot of different kinds of posts, mostly stuff about dumb shitcoins, memes, and an occasional Gods Unchained gameplay video. I'm a nerd that smokes a lot of weed and collects NFTs. One could say I'm a degenerate lol. Oh yeah, here's a selfie. Ugh I fucking hate selfies.
When & how I got into Gods Unchained
I found Gods Unchained on a Reddit post at the end of 2018 if I'm not mistaken. Someone had posted their invite link for the first beta version. Back then you needed an invite link from an existing player to even access the game. This was very early stages, I have some videos of it on @dtube but I went and tried to grab and it wouldn't load. You can see where I posted my invite link in August of 2019 along with some early looks at gameplay. Not sure why it won't lead for me, but maybe it will for you. I did manage to find a few of them that would play like the one below. Mane what a long way this game has come!
Just look at those fucking graphics. There were so few players it took forever to get battles, the mechanics have evolved a lot, and the game has gotten over 50,000 WAU. Amazing to think I have genesis cards and boards. I played every day back then. Here's a video I posted not too long ago on 3speak.tv. The difference is pretty amazing. Glad dtube saved some of the old videos~
Why I still play
Overall - I just love the game. But the real reason is - I immediately saw the real value. The kind of cult following the game grew, no matter how small. I wish I had stayed more consistent playing but life is life. I'm lvl 80 now and have genesis cards, boards, trinkets, etc... Recently came back to playing daily when I heard about the $GODS token finally happening. It was just rumors for the longest. The play to earn campaign has been a fun grind alongside weekend ranked. I can't wait til they add emotes or like a quick chat to the game. One can dream. Anyway - the future of this game is very bright in my opinion. I'd go as far as to say it's the most polished blockchain game out, at least graphics wise. Can't wait for active staking rewards, daily play to earn, and missions.
