We've rolled out a ton of updates to CUB over the last 4 months. The most notable change was the complete 180 degree turn on the economy of CUB. We directed most of the rewards per block to bHIVE and bHBD liquidity pools after the launch of the Multi-Token Bridge protocol.
This has allowed CUB to grow from generating a measely $100 per month in revenue to generating $9,125 in just month 4 of the bridge being operational. The Bridge revenue is growing at roughly 20% month over month and last month it paid $15k in LP incentives. The flippening of CUB from an inflationary to a deflationary protocol is almost upon us.
With so much revenue being generated, we also reimagined the CUB Kingdom. Previously, there were millions of CUB in the Kingdom. Sitting there and earning about 11% APY.
We wanted to build something that gave long-term stakeholders both the opportunity to earn higher yield than 11% APY and also the opportunity to signal belief in the long-term value of the protocol.
Enter Variable Staking Contract.
The Variable Staking contract allows users to decide how long they want to stake CUB for. You can stake it in flex staking which gives you the ability to withdraw at any time, but you'll only earn 2.46% APY.
Or you can stake it longer. 1 week, 3 weeks, 30 weeks, 52 weeks, etc.
The longer you stake it, the more yield you earn. The curve currently caps off at 27.50% APY for a 52 week stake.
The introduction of this along with the Multi-Token Bridge marks a radical shift in the dynamics of the CUB Economy. Turning it into something that resembles a blue-chip dividend stock generating massive revenue each month to buy and burn CUB off the market autonomously. All through smart contracts.
In this clip, we also talk about calculating Total Locked and Avg. locked duration. At the time of writing, there is 5.4M CUB locked for an average duration of 32 weeks.
