In scrolling through X (formally Twitter) today, I saw racism in the trending tags and when I tried checking it out, I was not happy with the things I am seeing at all.
The reason for the trend was about Vinicius junior and some defensive statements after the El-Clasico match between Real Madrid and Barcelona about the racial attacks on some of the black players during the game at the Bernabéu.

We are at a point in time where racism is rapidly growing across the world and despite all the anti-racism that is being preached, the world seems to turn a blind eye on that. At some point, I had to admit to it that, most of the stuff we see online about racism is from people who do not even know what they are doing. They don't know the psychological trauma this causes to their victims.
Despite all these, I still believe that with collective efforts and enough sensitization, racism is something that can be abolished completely just like the world did for slavery. There are so many ways to sensitize the world on the need to eradicate racism in this modern world.
Sports is something that almost everybody in the world is obsessed with. People pay maximum attention to sporting activities like football. The voices of sports personnel carry a lot of power. Also, sports activities bring people from various parts of the world together. If we leverage this, we can use sports to eradicate racism.
Today instead of using sports as a tool to eradicate racism, footballers are rather one of the group of people who are being abused racially, I have on several occasions heard some of the black players cry out for being abused.
It is time to say no to racism. I believe that, if FIFA and other sports organizations pay more attention to racism, they can form committees to enforce strict rules on the matter and also use the mass media to educate people on why racism should be discouraged by all means.
