Hello Splinterlands Summoners! Welcome to another edition of Social Media Challenge.
My Progress this Season
As I'm writing this, in less than 48 hours the season will end. This season is satisfying for me as I'm now in Silver 1 League and I hope to stay in that league until the season ends. I have also earned enough Glint to buy a legendary draw. Luckily, I got one of the cards in my wishlist.
Kulu Mastermind has the Opportunty skill like the Deep Lurker. I'm already seeing synergies between the two cards provided the max mana allows it. It also has the Weapons Training skill giving melee attack to monsters like Baakjira and Noa. My other wishlist is Aves Sturgis, I hope to get him someday.
Brawl Battles
Aside from the daily battles, I also take part in the weekly Brawl where my guild compete against others to win SPS and merits.
Today, I will be sharing one of my battles in Brawl.
The Ruleset
Equal Opportunity - All monsters have the opportunity ability.
Odd Ones Out - Only monsters with odd mana costs may be used in battles.
Stampede - The trample ability can trigger multiple times per attack if the trampled monster is killed.
Available Splinters - All except for Water.
Max Mana - 58
My Team
When considering my team in this battle, I thought about the mana requirement and the Odd Ones Out rule. Having these in mind, Dragon and Light have great high mana and odd mana cost monsters. So I picked Dragon/Light Splinter.
Quix the Devious as summoner as he is my only choice. I also have the soulbound summoner, Helios Matriarch but at a low level so I sticked with Quix.
Uriel the Purifier in the first position. This guy deals massive damage while also being so tanky at 11 mana. He is the perfect tank for me in this battle.
Carnage Titan in the second position. 3 melee attack coupled with Double Strike ability deals insane damage to the enemy.
Adelaide Brightwing in the third position. This card synergizes perfectly with Uriel. It has the Repair ability which makes Uriel even more tankier. It can also Resurrect which works well with a unit with Taunt. The 2 magic damage is a bonus for the support this card gives.
Larissa Kerato in fourth position. Queen of the Dragons. I was lucky to pull this Gladius card and I use it when the ruleset allows. She deals 2 magic damage and has the Double Strike and Bloodlust abilities.
Spirit Hoarder in the fifth position. I picked this card because of his Triage ability which works well with my monster with Taunt ability.
Iziar in the sixth and final position. This soulbound reward card is very useful in these high mana battles. It has the Taunt ability to draw enemy attacks while dealing 2 magic damage. With the Spirit Hoarder healing it, it can draw attacks longer and will help my other monsters.
My Opponent
My opponent's team is also strong so I'm in for an exciting battle.
He has Agor Longtail which is one of the best tanks in the Riftwatchers set. He also fielded the Carnage Titan in second position. At third is Djinn Renova dealing 3 magic damage. At fourth position is one of the best rare Gladius card, Captain Katie dealing 3 magic and also has the Bloodlust ability. In the fifth position he has the Meriput Magician to heal his tank and at sixth is Drybone Barbarian which he can afford to do since the ruleset gives all units the Opportunity ability.
The Battle
My monsters with Double Strike ability did most of the damage while the other monsters did their roles well. Uriel was a great tank and Iziar drew the attacks while being healed by the Spirit Hoarder. My strategy worked this time.
