Hello there Axie pips!
It's been a few days since our last log. I hope you guys are doing well especially during these red markets days. My small stash of SLP is slowly approaching 10k. The values are still Meh but hopefully we will see a recovery after the land release and many other bunch of stuffs getting implemented in the near future. Anyways, this would really be depressing for most if we continue with this talk so let's move on to our main agenda for today.
It's all said in title but we reached 1900 MMR once again! Weeweet! We almost made it to 2k but was eventually hammered down when we set our foot on the 1950's. t's only been 4-5 days since we set foot to the 1800's and here we are now. Will we reach the 2k before the season ends? Right now we are stable in between 1700's and 1800's. We do not know what the future have for us but it's not impossible.
Leki, leki, leki
This chant help me increase my crit chance while playing the game. You guys should try it too! JK. Hahaha! Sorry for that BS. Before this goes the wrong way let's start with some of battles from yesterday! I'll start playing today after I finish this log. So we faced 4 Immortal Aqua - Bird Teams yesterday and we won all the battles! We will discuss it step by step like the other logs rather we would only have some short summaries for each. Without further ado, let's go!
Super Heal with Swallow?

Let's start from the last battle we had. One of the enemies immortal aqua got Swallow so it's healing capabilities should be better than most. But it's more of a sustain card like the double anemone so we didn't really expect much damage coming from this one. Also, I noticed that their bird is quite easier to deal with compared to others not because it got a beast part but because it lacks Egg Bomb which is very essential for this line up. There are instances when you need to sacrifice the backline bird to save the aqua in front so this set up would likely divert from that annoying tactic.
What we did here was just to sacrifice our midline because it's pretty much useless against this line up. When we are crazy we sometimes annoy the enemy and stall the mid by shielding up but not in this case. We got that double Cactus which would deal huge damage to Swallow Anemone they had. We chained it with 2 reptile cards to seal the deal. Although the heal would be pretty much useless because we're slower the armor was still significant.
Trump is a pretty annoying bird card for our reptile because it's melee. Their decision backdooring the reptile was commendable but sadly the damage was not enough. After we took down their 2nd aqua it's pretty much GG so they concede.
Slower is better against Energy Destroy?

So we got this double Anemone with Piercing Sound which in my opinion is still one of the most annoying combinations out there. The deal with these guys is that even if you counter them if they did well in depriving you energy in the early rounds they can destroy you later on. So we took the play safe approach. We bide our time until we have enough cards to take down their aquas one by one.
We planned to take their first aqua in round 3 but they manage to destroy our plant. Without that damage from cactus it's impossible to do that. So we needed to be more patient the following rounds. Attacking from our mid was useless for some but we did this to make sure they use most of their Anemones. Anemones ould be their lifelines in the later round so the fewer they got the better for us.
At one point it was a 3 v1 until we took down one of their aquas. Don't ever pass if you're in this situation. It's better to use that energy to defend or inflict damage than to be destroyed and be wasted. Lucky for us we are slower so we had time to make an energy gain move with Kotaro. Even if their health was very low it's an Anemone so we had to make sure this move obliterate them thoroughly.
The final round was a 1 v1 against the bird. It's pretty easy with 2x Catapult. We could still get killed so it's better if we always have at least 3 energy to have some decent armor. I should have put on Bone sail instead of Tiny Dino for a safer play but it's still good in the hood. Ending is that they died by reflect.
Another Fast One

Even with hare dagger this team has very low chance to kill our plant in the first. Actually, we're more worried to battle against birds with Post Fight+ Sinister Strike because of the amount of damage output they could potentially produce even in round 1. It's a bit of an overkill but we put all what we could to take down one f that aquas in round 2.
They got lots of energy and would likely retaliate by backdoor. in this case we could just made a pass and let the mid aqua die but no, we want to stall and annoy them a bit further so we defended the aqua. Our aqua survived but it was pretty low. We had the option for a play with Axie Kiss but it's risky against a faster bird.
They took down our plant. i thought they would backdoor the bird but since they were running low on energy I think they felt pressure with the presence of the healthier plant. The second aqua was brought down the same round. They only got 2 energy left after taking down the aqua. Did they thought we would defend so they used two cards to attack?
With both affinity and energy advantage it's impossible for them to win even with crits. They made a smart choice to concede at round number 7.
Double Cactus of Death

Round 1 knock out with a reptile card chained with 2x Cactus was pretty sweet. They took down our mid in round 3 but that's okay. We stalled by using Pumpkin and Serious to complete our reptile cards for a 4 card combo next round. The divert came in at round 5 so we took down the bird instead of our target aqua it's now a 1 v1.
We stalled again and wait for the Tiny Dino's to show up. We already got 4 cards but I knew that the damage would not be enough. Catapult is effective against one of the Anemone cards so we also wanted this card for our final attack. With them breaking our shield we got the cards that we needed.
They needed more than 150 shield to stay alive with this one. The optimal combination for them fwould be 2x Lam + 2x Melee Anemone but they still made a stall move with Nimo and still attacked with range Anemone which was a bad choice. It was our victory by the end of round 7.

This is our 4 battles yesterday against Anemone Aquas.
That's all for today.
Thank you so much for visiting and I hope you enjoy.
See you soon.
Ciao~
