I chose the Gloom Owl tower and placed it all over the map in the second level of Soulkeep because I wanted to use the same strategy that had worked so well for me in the first level of the battle. Waves of Fiends stopped easily for me.
However, I decided to try a new tower in this level. I chose the Card Sharp due to its excellent Range of 235 and high Magic Damage of 125, allowing it to strike far away and cover a large area. It has a Fire Interval of 1.2, which means that it attacks almost constantly. I used it as my primary line of defense throughout the level because of this.
I placed the Card Sharp towers in strategic locations across the map, especially at corners and main entrances, and the start was promising. I was able to make it through the first few waves without any major issues, and the towers did a great job of eliminating Fiends of all kinds.
The Bloodlings, however, were the thing that really messed with my mind and ruined my entire strategy. These fast creatures would have fled before the Card Sharp tower could launch its second attack. The towers couldn't keep up with their speed, so my defenses started to be easy to breach.
I tried to remedy the situation by adding more towers to tight areas or along passages that slowed them down, but they still needed a different type of tower that could perform slower or even faster attacks.
That's when I realized that while Card Sharp was effective against regular Fiends, it was insufficient against fast monsters like Bloodlings on its own. I learned that there must be a balance in tower selection, not just in terms of attack power, but also in terms of speed and impact on enemy movement. This makes me think about combining other towers with Card Sharp next time to create a stronger combination
