Greetings my dear artists, welcome one more week to my artistic blog, today I come with a new entry for the #Splinterlands dynamic, this is a card (High Priest Darius) the highest ranking priest, a magician like no other able to do amazing things thanks to his great skills and abilities in magic; skills that others can only dream of possessing. This time I focused on creating a kind of fan-art with the most personal touch I could have given him, I focused a little on giving him a slightly younger appearance than in the letter and with a slightly more robust and robust demeanor:
Saludos mis queridos artistas, sean bienvenidos una semana mas a mi blog artístico, hoy les vengo con una nueva entrada para el la dinamina de #Splinterlands, se trata de una carta (High Priest Darius) el sacerdote de mas alto rango, un mago como ningún otro capaz de hacer cosas sorprendentes gracias a sus grandes habilidades y destrezas en la magia; habilidades que otros solamente pueden soñar con poseer. En esta ocasión me enfoque en crear una especie de fan-art con el mayor toque personal posible que podía haberle dado, me centre un poco en darle una apariencia un poco más joven que en la carta y con un porte un poco más fornido y robusto:
PROCESS / PROCESO
As I mentioned before I wanted to give him a slightly different appearance, so I decided to draw him as if he were the same wizard, but with 1 or 2 decades less on top, I also decided to create him as a full body or almost XD; I made many primary strokes and once finished I could focus on applying colors to the whole character with light tones. For the skin I used a light peach tone and for the clothes I used many brown tones, first a very dark one for the lower part of the wizard's suit; then an almost pure chocolate brown.
Como les mencione antes quise darle una apariencia solo ligeramente diferente, por ello decidí dibujarlo como si se tratara del mismo mago, pero con 1 o 2 décadas menos encima, también decidí crearlo en forma de cuerpo completo o casi XD; realice muchos trazos primarios y una vez terminados ya pude centrarme en ir aplicando colores a todo el personaje con tonos un poco claros. Para la piel use un tono durazno claro y para la vestimenta use muchos tonos marrones, primero uno muy oscuro para la parte baja del traje del mago; luego un marrón chocolate casi puro.
My idea to give a slight touch of youth to (High Priest Darius) was to paint his hair in a medium light blond tone with very long strokes both in the hair and in the beard of the wizard, after establishing a base for the hair I took the opportunity to create the base of the eyes with an imposing expression; for this I used a light blue color for the part of the iris of the eye with grays. I finished the part of the eyes at once because I found a couple of suitable brushes and I didn't want to forget to use them hehe.
Mi idea para darle un ligero toque de juventud a (High Priest Darius) fue pintar su cabello de una tonalidad rubia medio clara con trazos muy largos tanto en el cabello como en la poblada barba del mago, luego establecer una base para el pelo aproveche la oportunidad para ir creando la base de los ojos con una expresión imponente; para esto use un color azul celesta para la parte del iris del ojo con grises. Terminé la parte de los ojos de una misma vez ya que encontré un par de pinceles adecuados y no quería olvidarme de utilizarlos jeje.
Next in the painting was the creation of a good look and texture for the suit and tunic of our magician, detailing with some intense colors the lower part so that there was a difference between this and the tunic on the top; at the same time I added the golden details on the sleeves and on the part that goes down from the neck with some very saturated yellows, golds and oranges.
Lo siguiente en el pintado fue la creación de una buena apariencia y textura para el traje y la túnica de nuestro mago, detalle con colores algo intensos la parte baja para que hubiera una diferencia entre esto y la túnica de la parte de arriba; de una misma vez agregue los detalles dorados en las mangas y en la parte que baja desde el cuello con algunos amarillos, dorados y naranjas muy saturados.
The next step in the coloring was to finish with the hair and beard of (High Priest Darius), for this I was making strokes with the airbrush to create a little relief to make the hair look more realistic and alive; then with a small tip brush along with another one with open tips I was dropping wavy lines for the hair and then I did the same, but with small lines for the beard. Once the hair was ready the next thing was to paint the scepter or magic staff of the magician, it was a little complicated to create the shapes of the upper part, but with the help of a couple of tools I did it very fast.
El siguiente paso en el coloreado fue el de terminar con el cabello y la barba de (High Priest Darius), para esto fui realizando trazos con el pincel aerógrafo para crear un poco de relieve que hiciera ver el pelo algo mas realista y vivo; luego con un pincel de punta pequeña junto con otro de puntas abiertas fui dejando caer líneas onduladas para el cabello y después hice lo mismo, pero con líneas pequeñas para la barba. Ya con el pelo listo lo siguiente fue pintar el cetro o báculo mágico del mago, fue algo complicado crear las formas de la parte de arriba, pero con ayuda de un par de herramientas lo logre muy rápido.
I achieved a good look like pure gold on the tip of the staff, for this I took a little longer, but I really liked the final result; after finishing with all the character of the magician the next thing was to complete the background with some textures like sand dunes in desert style. I also used a couple of layer effects like (Light) to achieve some glows first in the part of the scepter; and then the (Bright) mode to create a kind of power or magical energy flowing from the eyes and arm of our powerful and skillful priest.
Logre una buena apariencia como de oro puro en la punta del báculo, para esto me demore un poco más, pero me gustó mucho el resultado final; luego de finalizar ya con todo el personaje del mago lo siguiente fue ir completando un poco el fondo con algunas texturas como de dunas de arena al estilo desierto. También use par de efectos de capa como (Light) para lograr unos brillos primero en la parte del cetro; y luego el modo (Bright) para crear una especie de poder o energía mágica brotando de los ojos y del brazo de nuestro poderoso y habilidoso sacerdote.

Well guys and girls, this has been all for today, this is a very interesting character with a lot of details that I thought it would be very difficult to achieve; but I'm very happy and satisfied with the final result and this motivates me to continue creating more complex works in the future, so expect them very soon.
