Happy midweek my dearest people of the artistic community of #Hive and of course of the card game loving community, I am Manuel and as always I would like to welcome you once again to my art blog; this time I am here to present my latest participation for the dynamics of each week in the community of #Splinterlands where we choose cards or rather characters of the game to represent them in some artistic way with sculptures, drawings, portraits or whatever. This time I wanted to go more towards the theme of the (Pirate of Eight), which throughout history have been dedicated to loot, steal and even steal by force all the riches of the ships and commercial ships that cross their path; this crew of the (Pirate of Eight) increasingly cover more territory in the seas and therefore more power, there are very few who dare to confront them and live to tell the tale:
Feliz mitad de semana mi queridísima gente de la comunidad artística de #Hive y por supuesto de la comunidad amante de los juego de cartas, yo soy Manuel y como siempre mes gustaría darles la bienvenida una vez mas a mi blog de arte; en esta oportunidad me encuentro por aquí para presentarles mi mas reciente participación para la dinámica de cada semana en la comunidad de #Splinterlands donde elegimos cartas o mejor dicho personajes del juego para representarlos de algunas forma artística con esculturas, dibujos, retratos o lo que sea. En esta ocasión quise irme más hacia la temática de los (Pirate of Eight), los cuales a lo largo de la historia se han dedicado a saquear, hurtar e incluso robar por la fuerza todas las riquezas de los navíos y barcos de comerciales que se atraviesen en su camino; esta tripulación de los (Pirate of Eight) cada vez abarcan mayor territorio en los mares y por ende mas poder, son muy pocos los que se atreven a hacerles frente y viven para contarlo:
As the main character for my drawing this week I decided to create a pirate woman with a pretty rough and reckless appearance, I sketched her as if she was on the deck of a ship while she and her fellow pirates were in charge of unloading all the valuable merchandise that the ship was carrying, I drew her with a slightly evil expression on her face and with her big sword resting on her shoulders in case someone of the crew they are stealing dares to confront them; for the coloring I decided to use a lot of tones from my personal color palette, I used a soft Salmon color for the skin, a few violet tones, red and so on. The idea with the skin of this character is that it looks quite soft, that's why I used only brushes like airbrush and watercolor to facilitate the mixing of colors, then to give a more feminine touch to the face of the character I painted touches of blush on the cheeks very similar to the tone I used for the lips; then for the painting of the eyes I made a small mixture of light gray tones with a wide range of blue tones to make her eyes look like something more unique.
Como protagonista para mi dibujo de esta semana decidí crear una mujer pirata con una apariencia bastante ruda y temeraria, la bocetee como si se encontrar en la cubierta de un barco mientras y ellas y sus compañeros piratas se encargan de descargar toda la mercancía de valor que transportaba dicho navío, la dibuje con una expresión en su rostro ligeramente malvada y con su gran espada reposando sobre sus hombros en caso de que alguien de la tripulación que están robando se atreva a hacerles frente; para el coloreado decidí usar muchos tonos de mi paleta de colores personal, use un color Salmon suave para la piel, unos cuantos tonos violetas, rojo y demás. La idea con la piel de este personaje es que se viese bastante suave, es por ello que use solo pinceles como aerógrafo y acuarela que facilitaran la mezcla de colores, luego para darle un toque mas femenino al rostro del personaje pinte toques de rubor en las mejillas muy similar al tono que use para los labios; posteriormente para el pintado de los ojos realice una pequeña mezcla de tonalidades grises claras con una amplia gama de tonos azules para hacer ver sus ojos como algo más único.
For the painting of the hair my idea was to create a long and smooth mane, a quite nice hair, to begin with I played a little with the dark purple tones and with the watercolor brush to achieve a quite soft base, then in a new layer in cut mode I was working what would be the basic relief of the hair with tones closer to pink, the idea is that the hair would look solid enough in the middle part and that in the sides slight strands of hair would stand out that basically are the ones that give a great realism to her hairstyle; as usual in my last works I like to add glitter to the hair in very specific areas and very close to the light of the environment and for this again I like to use the watercolor brush. In the 3rd step I begin to shape what would be the clothing and being a character with many garments I had to take my time to achieve as much detail as possible, I created a kind of blouse for the torso and leather pants with softer tones, the airbrush was the most appropriate here as I was looking for something more subtle.
Para el pintado del cabello mi idea era la de crear una larga y lisa melena, un cabello bastante bonito, para empezar jugué un poco con los tonos morados oscuros y con el pincel de acuarela para lograr una base bastante suave, luego en una nueva capa en modo recorte fui trabajando lo que sería el relieve básico del pelo con tonos mas cercanos al rosado, la idea es que el cabello se viese lo bastante solido en la parte media y que en los lados sobresalieran leves mechones de pelo que básicamente son los que le dan un realismo genial a su peinado; como es de costumbre en mis ultimas obras me gusta mucho agregar brillos al cabello en zonas muy puntuales y muy cercanas a la luz del ambiente y para esto nuevamente me gusta usar el pincel de acuarela. En el 3er paso comienzo a dar forma a lo que sería la vestimenta y al ser un personaje con muchas prendas pues tuve que tomarme mi tiempo para lograr en lo posible un buen nivel de detalle, cree una especie de blusa para el torso y pantalón de cuero con tonos más suaves, el pincel aerógrafo fue el más adecuado aquí ya que buscaba algo más sutil.
For the painting of the other details of the clothes I had to create a new folder of layers, here I focused more on the accessories of the character as his vest, gloves and others, for the vest I used brown tones to give a leather-like appearance, and for the gloves I used lighter tones to achieve the same appearance but a little older and worn; for the scarf and scarf on the character's head I wanted to use a quite contrasting tone as was the intermediate violet, here I was looking for a softer texture like the torso and also worked with airbrush and only applied small glitters in the wrinkles and folds of the fabric. The painting of the sword was what I most enjoyed creating since I am a big fan of painting weapons in my drawings, especially if they are melee weapons, here the first thing was to create an intense yellow base to try to simulate that the sword is forged in very resistant pure gold, then with some gray and blue-gray tones I was working what would be the part of the sharp blade of the sword, something important here is to give enough attention and care to the brightness of the metal and the edges to give the idea that the weapon is very sharp.
Para el pintado de los demás detalles de la ropa tuve que crear una nueva carpeta de capas, aquí ya me centre mas en los accesorios el personaje como su chaleco, guantes y demás, para el chaleco use tonos marrones para dar una apariencia bastante similar al cuero, y para los guantes use tonos un poco mas claros para lograr la misma apariencia pero un poco mas vieja y desgastados; para el pañuelo y pañoleta en la cabeza del personaje quise usar un tono bastante contrastante como fue el violeta intermedio, aquí buscaba una textura mas suave como la del torso e igualmente trabaje con aerógrafo y solo aplique pequeños brillos en las arrugas y pliegues de la tela. El pintado de la espada fue lo que más disfrute crear ya que soy muy fan de pintar armas en mis dibujos, sobre todo si son armas de combate cuerpo a cuerpo, aquí lo primero fue crear una base color amarillo intenso para tratar de simular que la espada esta forjada en oro puro muy resistente, luego con algunos tonos grises y azules-grisáceos fui trabajando lo que seria la parte de la hoja filosa de la espada, algo importante aquí es darle suficiente atención y cuidado a los brillos del metal y los bordes para lograr dar esa idea de que el arma esta muy afilada.
For the scenery of my drawing I decided to create a kind of channel where the merchant ships pass through and where it is easier for the (Pirate of Eight) to attack them and steal their merchandise, the first thing I did here was to create the base of the sea water with a light blue tone that I usually use to paint night skies, then with the watercolor I was giving that texture to the translucent water and that subtle effect of small movements; then in the back part I created 2 large mountains in the distance leaving a slight space between them which is precisely where the ships pass to reach the open sea, the texture work of the mountains I did in at least 5 different layers, first creating a rough texture and then better defining the smallest details of shadows and cracks. Later I worked a little on the farthest part of the background to give a little depth perspective to the drawing, as if the open sea was just at the end.
Para el escenario de mi dibujo decidí crea una especie de canal por donde transitan los barcos de los comerciantes y donde es más fácil para los (Pirate of Eight) atacarlos y robar su mercancía, lo primero que hice aquí fue crear la base del agua de mar con un tono azul celeste que generalmente uso para pintar cielos nocturnos, luego con el acuarela fui dando esa textura al agua traslucida y ese sutil efecto de pequeños movimientos; luego en la parte más atrás cree 2 grandes montañas a lo lejos dejando un leve espacio entre ellas el cual es precisamente por donde pasan los barcos para llegar a mar abierto, el trabajo de textura de las montañas lo hice en al menos 5 capa diferentes, primero creando una textura rugosa y luego definiendo mejor los mínimos detalles de sombras y grietas. Posteriormente trabaje un poco la parte más lejana del fondo para así dar un poco de perspectiva de profundidad al dibujo, como si el mar abierto estuviese justo al final.

This has been the whole process of my participation this week for the #Splinterlands dynamic, the truth is that I was very very happy with the level of detail of the character, his outfit, everything, it was a job that took me about 4 days and 3 nights more or less, but the end result was worth it, so I hope you also liked it a lot; with nothing more to add I say goodbye for today, I send you all a big hello and a hug and we will see each other again in a next post...see you later! 😉🖖🏽.
Esto ha sido todo el proceso de mi participación de esta semana para la dinámica de #Splinterlands, la verdad quede muy muy contento con el nivel de detalles del personaje, su atuendo, en fin todo, fue un trabajo que me llevo unos 4 días y 3 noches más o menos, pero que el resultado final lo valió, así que espero que a ustedes también les haya gustado muchísimo; sin nada más que agregar me despido por hoy, les mando un gran saludo a todos y un abrazo y nos volveremos a ver en un siguiente post…hasta luego!😉🖖🏽.
