Happy Tuesday my dear readers, your friend Manuel greets you and as always it is a pleasure to have you here again on my art blog, this time I am here to share with you what would be an illustration in which I was full busy during this weekend, it is a new participation for the weekly dynamics of the community of #Splinterlands; in recent weeks I had illustrated characters related to the field of magic and the like, but this time I decided to create something very different from that, it turns out that reviewing in the game market I came across the card of (Dumacke Orc) which is a character that caught my attention both for its peculiar style, as for the lore behind it. Many years ago the world of (Dumacke) was brutally attacked by the legions of chaos, ending with practically all the existing life in this place, and leaving everything turned to ruins and ashes; what the legions did not know is that some managed to survive and took refuge in caves and subway crypts where they gradually adapted and evolved becoming even stronger than their ancestors were:
Feliz Martes mis queridísimos lectores y lectoras, por aquí los saluda su amigo Manuel y como siempre es un gustazo tenerlos por aquí de nuevo por mi blog de arte, en esta oportunidad me encuentro por aquí para compartirles lo que sería una ilustración en la cual estuve full ocupado durante este fin de semana que paso, se trata de una nueva participación para la dinámica semanal de la comunidad de #Splinterlands; en las últimas semanas había ilustrado personajes relacionados con el ámbito de la magia y cosas por el estilo, pero esta vez me decidí por crear algo muy diferente a eso, resulta que revisando en el market del juego me tope con la carta de (Dumacke Orc) la cual es un personaje que me llamo poderosamente la atención tanto por su peculiar estilo, como por el lore detrás de ella. Hace muchos años atrás el mundo de (Dumacke) fue brutalmente atacado por las legiones del caos, acabando con practicamente toda la vida existente en este lugar, y dejando todo vuelto ruinas y cenizas; lo que las legiones no sabían es que algunas lograron sobrevivir y se refugiaron en cuevas y criptas subterráneas donde poco a poco fueron adaptándose y evolucionado volviéndose aún más fuertes de los que fueron sus antepasados:

The character of the card as you can see is a large and muscular Orca, I tried to stick very much to that essence, but still I wanted to give a little more friendly and sensual appearance to my drawing; I drew it as if it were going up and passing through the tunnels of the caves in which they inhabit for many years. In the case of the strapping I went more towards the pink tones since I like to paint my works with a bit of warmth in the skin, with the airbrush and the watercolor I created the volume of the body and of course defining very well the musculature in her arms, neck and bust; later I created a couple of layers and light and placed them in the front part of my canvas, while the shadows I subtly traced them in the neck, between the arms and under the clothes of the character.
El personaje de la carta como podrán apreciar se trata de una Orca de gran tamaño y musculatura, yo trate de apegarme mucho a esa esencia, pero aun así le quise dar una apariencia un poco mas amigable y sensual a mi dibujo; la dibuje como si esta se encontrase subiendo y transitando los túneles de las cuevas en las cuales habitan desde hace muchos años. En el caso del correado me fui más haca los tonos rosados ya que me gusta mas pintar mis obras con un tanto de calidez en la piel, con el aerógrafo y la acuarela fui creando el volumen del cuerpo y por supuesto definiendo muy bien la musculatura en sus brazos, cuello y busto; posteriormente cree un par de capa y de luz y las coloque en la parte frontal de mi lienzo, mientras que las sombras las trace sutilmente en el cuello, entre los brazos y debajo de la ropa del personaje.
Unlike the letter where the eyes of the character can not be seen, I wanted to create both eyes to be noticed under the visor or glasses that the character is wearing, here I took a little more freedom and painted the eyes of a reddish color mixed with a little brown and created them a little large; then in the case of the lips I wanted to continue with the same tones of the eyes, but a little smaller so that the fangs in his mouth were much better noticed. With the hair I chose to create a fairly short hairstyle, for this I used as a base an orange color and I drew the strokes to the left side leaving a couple of long strokes open in several directions and without blurring too much; then I created a new layer in (shine) mode and with the watercolor brush I was establishing some reflections on the top of the head and detailing a little better the locks.
A diferencia de la carta donde los ojos del personaje no se logran apreciar, yo si quise crear ambos ojos para que se notaran debajo de la visera o lentes que lleva puesto el personaje, aquí me tome un poco mas de libertad y pinte los ojos de un rojizo escálala mezclado con un poco de marrón y los cree de un tamaño un poco grandes; después en el caso de los labios quise seguir con los mismos tonos de los ojos, pero de un tamaño un poco mas pequeño para que los colmillos en su boca se notaran mucho mejor. Con el cabello opte por crear un peinado bastante corto, para esto use como base un color naranja y plasme los trazos hacia el lado izquierdo dejando par de trazos largos abiertos en varias direcciones y sin difuminar demasiado; después cree una nueva capa en modo (shine) y con el pincel acuarela fui estableciendo algunos reflejos en la parte alta de la cabeza y detallando un poco mejor los mechones.
The creation of the clothes was a little more delayed due to the large amount of clothes that the character wears, the first thing I did was to take gray and brown tones to paint the pants and the blouse with a little stiff texture, here I formed 2 layers which I mixed and then blurred softly; in the areas of the neck, sleeves and others I used a few gray tones along with some white tones to create a kind of elegant details and above all very bright. In the 2nd part of the painting of the clothes use a soft brown tone and create a kind of tight sleeves which will make you notice the great musculature in his arms, for this apply the multiply effect and slightly lower the opacity to 70%; then for the metallic details on the forearms use several gray tones as a base and with a flat brush and a square brush I was giving the metallic texture noisy and a little rudimentary.
La creación de la ropa si fue un poco mas demorada debido a la gran cantidad de prendas que porta el personaje, lo primero que hice fue tomar tonos grises y marrones para pintar los pantalones y la blusa de textura un poco rígida, aquí forme 2 capas las cuales mezcle y luego difumine suavemente; en las zonas del cuello, mangas y demás utilice unos cuantos tonos grises junto con algunos tonos blancos para cree una especie de detalles elegantes y sobre todo muy brillantes. En la 2da parte del pintado de la ropa use un tono marrón suave y cree unas especies de mangas ajustadas las cuales hiciera notaran la gran musculatura en sus brazos, para esto aplique el efecto multiplicar y baje levemente la opacidad a un 70%; después para los detalles metálicos en los antebrazos use varios tonos grises como base y con un pincel plano y otro cuadrado fui dándole la textura metálica ruidosa y un poco rudimentaria.
To create the glasses or goggles that he wears (Dumacke Orc) in his eyes, I took a few intense purple tones and a little bit of not so pure black, with the watercolor brush I created the volume of the glasses leaving subtle irregular details on the edges and leaving a small circular space right in the middle where the lenses would go; to create the lenses of the glasses I went one layer below the structure of the lenses and with the burn effect and the red color I painted them so that the eyes of the character could be seen through the lenses. To set the background of my work I took as a reference that the creatures (Dumacke Orc) live in deep caves, and what I did was to gradually form large rock walls in a circular shape from the back to the bottom with brown colors, and just to one side of the character I created the entrance to one of the caves; as these caves are extremely deep and dark what occurred to me was to paint some lighted torches on the walls of the tunnels.
Para crear los anteojos o goggles que lleva (Dumacke Orc) en sus ojos pues tome unos cuantos tonos morados intensos y un poco de negro no tan puro, con el pincel acuarela fui creando el volumen de los anteojos dejando sutiles detalles irregulares en los bordes y dejando un pequeño espacio circular justo en el medio donde irían los cristales; para crear los cristales de los anteojos me fui una capa debajo de la estructura de los lentes y con el efecto de capa (burn) y el color rojo fui pintándolos de modo que los ojos del personaje se notaran a través de los cristales. Para ambientar el fondo de mi obra tome como referencia que las criaturas (Dumacke Orc) viven en cuevas profundas, y lo que hice fue poco a poco formar grandes muros de roca en forma circular desde atrás hacia el fondo con colores marrones, y justo a un lado del personaje cree la entrada a una de las cuevas; como estas cuevas son sumamente profundas y oscuras lo que se me ocurrió fue pintar algunas antorchas encendidas en las paredes de los túneles.
