Good afternoon, my dear friends in the #Hive community. Happy Tuesday to everyone reading this today. My name is Manuel, and I would like to welcome you once again to my art blog. Today I am here once again to bring you my latest entry for the weekly challenge from my friends at #Splinterlands, which, as you know, involves choosing characters from the game to represent them in our own style. In my case, I wanted to create an illustration focused on semi-realism based on the card (Anyu Huntswoman), which is a tribe of expert hunters skilled at tracking anything. They are completely adapted to survive in the coldest conditions that exist and do not answer to any master, only to their own primitive instincts:
Muy buenas tardes mi queridísima gente de la comunidad de #Hive, feliz martes para todos los que se encuentran leyéndome por aquí el día de hoy, yo soy Manuel y me gustaría darles la bienvenida una nueva oportunidad por aquí por mi blog de arte. El día de hoy me encuentro por aquí una vez más para traerles mi más reciente entrada para la dinámica semanal de mi gente de #Splinterlands, que como sabrán se trata de elegir personajes del juego para representarlos a nuestro propio estilo, y en mi caso quise hacer una ilustración enfocada en el semi realismo sobre la carta de (Anyu Huntswoman), las cuales son una tribu de cazadoras expertas en rastrear lo que sea, están completamente adaptadas para sobrevivir en las condiciones más frías que existen y no responden ante ningún amo, solo ante sus propios instintos primitivos:
PROCESS / PROCESO
As I always like to start each illustration by sketching and forming a good outline or basic skeleton of my characters, pose, body structure, features, and so on, in this case I chose to create the character right in the center of my canvas, standing with her left hand holding her rudimentary spear or bone javelin. To paint the skin, I used a range of brown and orange tones to give Anyu Huntswoman a dark complexion. In this case, I combined a couple of soft brushes to capture the details of shadows and highlights while slightly blurring the facial features to achieve a fairly feminine skin tone.
Como siempre me gusta empezar cada ilustración realizando trazos y formado un buen bosquejo o esqueleto básico de mis personajes, pose, contextura corporal, rasgos y demás, en este caso opte por crear al personaje justo en el centro de mi lienzo parada sosteniendo con su mano izquierda su rudimentaria lanza o jabalina de huesos. Para el pintado de la piel utilice una gama de tonos marrones y naranjas para darle una tez de piel morena a (Anyu Huntswoman), en este caso combino un par de pinceles suaves para plasmas los detalles de sombras, luces y al mismo tiempo difuminar levemente los rasgos faciales hasta conseguir una piel bastante femenina.
For painting the eyes and mouth, I like to use a much smaller brush with a fine tip. This time, I used green and greenish-yellow tones to work on the iris and pupil of both eyes, giving (Anyu Huntswoman) a cold and serious expression. For the lips, I used warmer tones such as red and a little orange for the shadows and volume. For the hair, I used a color palette similar to that of the eyes so that they would match better. In this case, using my watercolor brush, I worked the hair back into a kind of ponytail, but left some strands loose around the sideburns and the middle of the forehead. I also used the same 3-point brush for the eyebrows to texture these two areas well and make them look the way I wanted.
Para el pintado de ojos y boca me gusta usar un pincel mucho más pequeño y con punta fina, en esta ocasión use tonos verdes y amarillos verdosos para trabajar el iris y la pupila de ambos ojos dándole a (Anyu Huntswoman) una expresión fría y seria; y para los labios use tonos mas cálidos como el rojo y un poco de naranja para las sombras y el volumen. Para el trabajo del pelo use una paleta de colores similar a la de los ojos para que combinaran mejor, en este caso usando mi pincel de acuarela trabaje el pelo hacia atrás con una especie de cola de caballo, pero dejando algunos mechones sueltos en las zonas de las patillas y la parte media de la frente; también para la cejar use el mismo pincel de 3 puntas para texturizar muy bien estas 2 zonas y que se viesen como yo quería.
In the third stage, I focused on the character's jacket. I started with blue and green tones, creating a multi-layered suit with fairly thick fabric, as is usually worn in cold climates. Then, using light blue tones, I created a kind of light nightgown with protective accessories on the shoulders, forearms, and other areas. My idea here was that these accessories would be made of a very hard, shiny metallic material. For the neck area and lower legs, I used the three-point brush again and created a kind of animal fur with a fairly realistic texture. For the spear, I used gray and white tones, giving it a rather irregular appearance, especially at the tip, where I applied a little more texture.
En la 3ra etapa me ocupe ya de la vestimenta de cazadora del personaje, comencé con tonos azules y verdes creando un traje de varias capas con tela bastante gruesa como por lo general se usa en climas fríos; luego con azules celestes cree una especie de camisón claro con accesorios protectores en la zona de los hombros, antebrazos y demás, mi idea aquí era que estos accesorios fuesen de un material metálico muy duro e igualmente brillante. Para la zona del cuello y la parte baja de las piernas tome nuevamente el pincel de 3 puntas y cree una especie de pelaje animal con textura bastante realista. Ya para la lanza use tonos grises y blancos dándole una apariencia bastante irregular, sobre todo en la punta donde aplique un poco más de textura.
