Shadow Hunters Community Contest SMASh - Round 293
A shadow is an area of darkness where light is partially or totally obstructed or blocked, leaving a dark or blackish hue. Any light source, whether natural such as the sun or fire, or an artificial source such as a lamp or flashlight, can produce a shadow.
This afternoon when I was returning home, I could observe the shadow cast on the fence that protects the vehicular access to the building, and I was quite curious because it had a steep angle, around 45°, due to the location of the sun at this time of the year.
Although my country, Venezuela, is located in the tropics and as such, there are no major differences in temperature throughout the year as in North America, Europe or Asia, which are currently in autumn, it is possible to observe how the location or displacement of the sun varies depending on the month in which we are.
Una sombra es una zona de oscuridad donde la luz es parcial o totalmente obstaculizada o bloqueada, dejando un tono oscuro o negruzco. Cualquier fuente de luz, tanto natural como el sol o el fuego, o una fuente artificial como puede ser una lámpara o una linterna, pueden producir sombra.
Esta tarde cuando regresaba a casa, pude observar la sombra que proyectaba sobre la reja que protege el acceso vehicular al edificio, y me causó bastante curiosidad porque tenía un ángulo bastante pronunciado, alrededor a los 45°, producto de la ubicación del sol en esta época del año.
Si bien mi país, Venezuela, está ubicado en el trópico y como tal, no hay mayores diferencias de temperatura en el transcurso del año como sucede en América del Norte, Europa o Asia, que se encuentran actualmente en otoño, sí es posible observar como varía la ubicación o el desplazamiento del sol dependiendo del mes en que nos encontramos.
