Jednodniowy rejs z Rodos z wyspę Symi
We set sail for the island of Symi from the city of Rhodes quite early in the morning, but as I mentioned in the previous entry, we had plenty of time to explore the island's capital very early in the morning, and in the late afternoon, after returning from the island of Symi.
Na wyspę Symi z miasta Rodos wypłynęliśmy dość wcześnie rano, ale jak wspomniałem we wcześniejszym wpisie, mieliśmy sporo czasu aby pozwiedzać sama stolicę wyspy bardzo wcześnie rano, oraz późnym popołudniem, po powrocie z wyspy Symi.
The ferry to the island took about 60 minutes, but it wasn't the cheapest. A round-trip ticket for two people costs 64 euros, and sometimes you can get cheap flights from Poland to Rhodes for that price 😉. But hey, we wanted to see something other than Rhodes, so that's what we did.
Prom na wyspę płynął około 60 minut, ale nie należał do najtańszych. Bilet w obie strony dla 2 osób to koszt 64 euro, a czasami za taka kwotę można w promocji nabyć bilety lotnicze z Polski na Rodos 😉. No ale cóż, chcieliśmy zobaczyć coś innego poza wyspą Rodos, i tak zrobiliśmy.
Even though the sea was very calm, we couldn't go outside to admire the beautiful view - we had to wait until we were moored to the shore.
Mimo iż morze był bardzo spokojne, nie mogliśmy wyjść na zewnątrz, by podziwiać piękny widoki - musieliśmy czekać aż przycumujemy do brzegu.
The first impression upon arrival was extraordinary. The town of Gialos, with a population of around 2,500, is mostly situated on mountain slopes. The houses rise one above the other, looking like large, colorful blocks arranged in rows. The view is incredible, completely different from Rhodes.
Pierwsze wrażenie po dopłynięciu było niezwykłe. Miasteczko Gialos liczące około 2500 mieszkańców, w większości położone jest na zboczach gór. Domy wyrastają jeden nad drugim i wyglądają niczym poukładane kolorowe wielkie klocki. Widok jest niesamowity, zupełnie inny niż na Rodos.

It was on the island of Symi that the character of "Pierrot," one of the main characters of the Italian commedia dell'artel, was born. The legend of his creation is immortalized on a stone tablet.
To właśnie na wyspie Symi narodziła się postać "Pierrota" jedna z postaci włoskiej commedii dell’artel. Legendę o jej powstaniu uwieczniono na kamiennej tablicy.
Symi Island captivated us with its tranquility and views. I'd love to return, as we barely scratched the surface of the area in just a few hours. The next post will feature more photos from above.
Wyspa Symi nas urzekła swoim spokojem i widokami. Chętnie na nią wrócę, bo przez parę godzin ledwo liznęliśmy tego terenu. W kolejnym wpisie będzie trochę więcej zdjęć z góry.
