Grim Reaper! 💀
Greetings again community! Welcome everyone to a new post. This time I come to share with you my new entry for the @splinterlands art contest. This time I wanted to make an illustration of the character Grim Reaper, but with a style a bit more "free" than what I've been doing lately as a practice. Below I show you a bit of my creative process to achieve this illustration, I hope you like it and thanks for stopping by!
¡Saludos nuevamente comunidad! Sean todos bienvenidos a un nuevo post. En esta ocasión vengo a compartir con ustedes mi nueva participación para el concurso de arte de @splinterlands. Esta vez quise realizar una ilustración del personaje Grim Reaper, pero con un estilo un poco mas "libre" a lo que he venido haciendo últimamente como practica. A continuación les muestro un poco de mi proceso creativo para lograr esta ilustración. ¡Espero les guste y gracias por pasar por aquí!
Creative Process | Proceso Creativo✏️
First I started making the sketch of my character, as it was a chibi I made his head bigger than his body, I separated the elements in layers of different colours so I didn't get lost with the strokes. Once I had my sketch ready I proceeded to clean it, join it and define even more its lines until it became a lineart with not very detailed lines which was my goal.
Primero comencé realizando el boceto de mi personaje, al tratarse de un chibi realice su cabeza mas grande que su cuerpo, fui separando los elementos en capas de diferentes colores para no perderme con los trazos. Una vez tenia mi boceto listo procedí a limpiarlo, unirlo y a definir aun mas sus líneas hasta convertirlo en un lineart con líneas no muy detalladas el cual era mi objetivo.
After having the lineart solved I started to work on the colours of the character. With a palette of tones similar to those of the reference, I applied them on the character in different layers. Then with the help of a soft brush I started to apply the first shadows that the character would have with not very defined brushstrokes.
Después de tener el lineart resuelto comencé a trabajar en los colores del personaje. Con una paleta de tonos similar a los de la referencia, fui aplicándolos por el personaje en capas diferentes. Luego con la ayuda de un pincel un poco suave comencé a aplicar las primeras sombras que tendría el personaje con pinceladas no muy definidas.
From my first layer of shadows I proceeded to deepen a little more these shadows in the darkest areas of the character. Then with the same brush I began to apply the lights to the character, placing first the more general lights and then giving even more value in the areas with more intensity. Happy with the result I started to work on a small violet background with the help of a paint texture brush.
A partir de mi primera capa de sombras procedí a profundizar un poco mas estas sombras en las zonas mas oscuras del personaje. Después con el mismo pincel comencé a aplicar las luces al personaje, colocando primero las luces mas generales y luego dando aun mas valor en las zonas con mayor intensidad. Contento con el resultado comencé a trabajar en un pequeño fondo de color violeta con ayuda de un pincel con textura de pintura.

Finally I worked on the final details, I applied a kind of energy waves around the character and with the help of an airbrush I applied green sparkles and created green particles. To give a better effect I applied a lighter green gradient to illuminate my character. Thank you very much for watching until the end and see you next time!
Para finalizar trabaje en los detalles finales, aplique una especie de ondas de energía alrededor del personaje y con ayuda de un aerógrafo aplique destellos de color verde además de crear partículas con este mismo color. Para dar mejor efecto aplique una degradado de color verde mas claro para que iluminara a mi personaje. Muchas gracias por ver hasta y el final y hasta la próxima!
