I didn't have anything special planned for Wednesday walk challenge. But
Today I planned to go to a shopping center, but I didn't plan to walk to it.
But I parked the car long before the shopping center and decided to walk to it.
In its heyday, this was the largest shopping center in Novi Sad. It is in a great location at the entrance to the city and next to it is the E75 A1 Highway.
They planned to expand, build a new building, but the work stopped, the concrete pillars remained. then the owner of the shopping center changed and that unbuilt building fell into oblivion.
It was fenced off so that it could not be accessed.
It has been abandoned for over ten years.
But nature shows its renewable power and acacia has grown over the entire plot where the building is located.
But that is not what caught my attention.
What caught my attention were the storks.
These are some urban storks.
The storks have settled on the concrete pillars and a whole colony of storks.
The pedestrian area is practically impassable because the acacia has grown.
And it is not safe to go on the road because it is still very transited. Next to the shopping center there is also a parking lot for trucks.
In addition to all that, there is trash everywhere because the building is abandoned.
Instead of tall trees, which are not there, tall pillars were used
It seems to me to be over ten meters high
Well, I can say that it's not exactly commendable
But walking to the shopping center is a bit inconvenient, with prickly acacia trees pushing you off the path and heavy traffic on the road.
By coincidence or irony of fate, this shopping center is named Roda.
Roda is Serbian slang for stork.
