Hello everyone, my name is Mercy. This is my first post on hive.
Sabbaths should not be meant for a particular day only. In other words, we can say that not all Sabbaths fall on Saturday. Sometimes, Sabbaths fall on any day of the week. Therefore, we should not attach Sabbaths to Saturdays or Sundays alone. It can be any day of the week.
Normally, the belief of the Catholic church is that Jesus Christ died on a Friday isn’t true or biblical. Also, there are so many superstitions that follows the Sabbath day. Some will say that you cannot eat meat or you can’t do other things. Why is that?
Just as Brother Eli has said, those are crazy teachings and I’m sorry to say that.
Matthew 28:1 says; In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulcher.
Mere reading this, you will be able to tell that Jesus Christ did not resurrect on Sunday. It is written here “first day of the week” so why have they decided to attach Sabbath to Sunday?
Then, this shows that the teaching is not biblical. People are just doing what they like and there is going to be someone somewhere who must have started this thought and idea.
This is why so many people will follow the idea too.
John 19:31 says; The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was a high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.
The high day written there connotes that it was not an ordinary day. It was a very important day to everyone. From the findings and the facts spilled out from this video, Jesus Christ resurrected on a Thursday.
