This is one of the Korean series from my childhood, I remember seeing the first few episodes of this series using a DVD player, my siblings and I enjoyed watching Korean series together. I don't remember how we didn't get to finish it but I had it downloaded some weeks ago.
Since I wasn't sure where we stopped in the series and it's been like over 8 years since we last saw the series, I downloaded from the beginning and it's been "Oh this scene" to "Yay this scene!" until I got to the part I had not seen before. It's an old series but seeing it again felt very nostalgic.
"Stars Falling From The Sky" is a 20 episode Korean series released in the year 2010, directed by Kyung Hee Go. It's a very emotional movie but more than that, it's packed with a lot of life lessons. When I think back to the series, I can only picture the countless beautiful scenes in it.
Pal-gang have to cater for her five siblings (all were adopted) after her parents met a sudden death by accident. With all her family's wealth gone, she have to work harder to fed for themselves and she finds a way into the house of her Boss at work as a housekeeper with no skill.
Having to hid her give siblings in her employer's house was a whole lot of drama and it definitely would keep viewers on a beautiful suspense, how were they found out and what actions were taken? Well, you'll have to find out about all that and many more in this beautiful rom-com series.
About The Main Characters
The series is starred by Kim Ji-hoon as the male lead, an actor I've come to like his acting skills since his role in "Love To Hate You". Here, he is an arrogant Boss who finds it hard to connect with people due to his childhood abandonment story. He finds a big weird family in his home.
He's also a half brother and a uncle to two other characters who live with him. He encounters big changes since he accepted the family into his space but after displaying harsh and arrogant attitudes towards them, he slowly falls in love with Pal-gang, his new housekeeper with kids.
The series also feature "Choi Jeong-won as the female lead, I'm not familiar with her other roles but she played her role on this one very well. She takes up the role of an laid back employee who unexpectedly have to cater for her five adopted siblings. She went from a lady to being a mother.
Pal-gang, as she's called in the story, is slow witted, unbothered but slowly she learns how to properly care for the responsibilities she is faced with. She had to hide her siblings in her Boss house but somehow she wins favour for her siblings from others in the house and falls inlove.
All five children, the siblings to Pal-gang did great with their acting. Even the little baby surprised me with how accurate he cries, laughs and is happy whenever the others are happy. The scene where the baby fell sick got me real hard, like they all brought their A game for this storyline.
One of the kids, Park Ji-bin caught my attention, can't believe he has been acting for that long. His recent series "A Shop for killers", he has grown so much and his acting skill has gotten better. One thing is for sure if you should decide to see this series, the kids will make you want to cry.
I had a really nice time on this old series that I didn't realize when the 20 episodes ran out. Like I said, it's full of beautiful scenes to be emotional, learn real life lessons and laugh your heart out. But it's not without some unrealistic and annoying scenes, I think just makes it complete.
The other supporting characters did well, even the villain in it. I wasn't satisfied with how her story ended but the series still have the happy ending I wanted to see. It's a lovely recommendation, old but I hope you do check it out if you want to see some family drama. 8/10.
