I still wish for things to go back to the way it was when I was younger, I could buy so much stuffs with the little change dad always gave to me for school break expenses. But for a while up till now, I keep doubting my money at hand whenever I'm about leaving for the market.
Prices of things are on the increase and the most annoying thing is that there's no hint on when the price will go higher because it hardly ever goes back down once it is inflated. Life wasn't so hard back then when my dad was taking care of my siblings and in terms of daily expenses, it isn't so bad now but things are definitely harder than it was before.
I've refused to visit the market place a good number of times because I found out I could get same stuffs at same price from close by (getting rid of transport expenses). This isn't supposed to be but what to do when the economy doesn't seem to get any better and I've got to survive somehow.
A few strategies I take towards price inflation in my country...
I check out for prices (with quality in check) at different places and sometimes at the different markets, I've come to understand that some sellers are more considerate than some (or maybe they just don't know they are) and I get to buy things cheaper than I would have if I had just gone straight to a shop for them.
I do ask questions a lot, just recently I decided I wanted to get a few clothes but didn't want to spend much and I asked a lady I know who always talk about how cheap she got her wears from a market. I learnt about the market, which is a bit far from where I live and went for it. It turned out that prices were about twice half what I would have gotten the stuffs I bought there. Even though transport expenses became higher, the difference was much to cut down my expenses and stay in budget.
Buying things in bulk has also helped me a lot in saving up some money after spending during this inflation times. Dad taught me this habit and his reason was also cut down expenses caused by price Inflation in the market. Buying in bulk takes some percent off for the buyer as you'd be buying from manufacturers or wholesalers directly, just like the retailers do.
Buying just what I need is another strategy I've come to learn how to manage to survive this period where everything is on the increase. Even as far to transport expenses, I don't go out too often and while this may be because I have no important place to go to everyday, it is also to get rid of the high prices in the transport system.
Living to survive in a world that keep changing prices higher isn't easy but we've got to survive anyways. And this is where I commend Hive for being there and helping me out in fighting this, I've had less troubles getting what I need thanks to Hive.
