I have shared on several occasions about the difficult times we have faced with my husband's health. We started our search for answers with one specialist, and gradually referred to others, until, to my surprise, we came to the specialty of allergology. I decided to write to the doctor via WhatsApp to ask how the appointments and costs worked. She kindly replied and gave me the steps to follow.
Fortunately, she was scheduled for a medical consultation and immediately underwent an allergy workup that included testing for animals, environmental allergens and foods. When the day of the appointment arrived, the doctor began with a series of questions and then performed the test, which revealed that he was incredibly allergic to dogs, cats, cockroaches, citrus, gluten, wheat and many other things.
Why do I mention all this? Because it's the background to the recipe I want to share today. In her quest for healthy dietary options, the doctor recommended that I prepare her food in air fryer. So today I bring you a special recipe for people with these allergies: Broaster chicken in flakey oatmeal, served with fries and carrot and tomato salad! With this in mind, we begin our journey towards a healthier diet.
Now, without further ado, let's get to know the ingredients that I used for this recipe👇
HEALTH BENEFITS:
✓ Oat flakes; This is an exclente source in fiber which helps regulate intestinal transit, besides keeping us with the feeling of satiety. It is rich in vitamins and minerals.
Potatoes; These are rich in carbohydrates, providing us with a lot of energy. It has vitamins and minerals.
✓ Carrots; This is rich in antioxidants, they are low in calories and has a large amount of water. It helps the digestive system.
✓ Tomato; This is a great Antioxidant, has great amount of water and is low in calories.
Now, without further ado, let's get to know the ingredients that I used for this recipe👇
✓ 1 kilo of potatoes
✓ 1 egg
✓ Oat flakes ( the amount needed to cover the chicken).
✓ 1 measure of salt
✓ 1 tomato
✓ Half a carrot
✓ Oil to taste
Now let's go to the step by step of this easy recipe👇
✓ Step #1: First, preheat the air fryer. Then, we beat an egg in a bowl and season the chicken with salt. We dredge each piece of chicken in the beaten egg, making sure it is well coated. Next, we dredge it in the rolled oats until it is completely coated. For an even crispier texture, we repeat the process: dipping the chicken back into the egg and then into the oatmeal. Finally, we take the chicken to the air fryer to cook until golden brown and crispy.
✓ Step #2: While the chicken is cooking in the air fryer, I start peeling the potatoes, which I have previously washed. I cut them into rustic shaped pieces and mix them with salt and a drizzle of oil before taking them to the air fryer along with the chicken. Next, I prepare the salad by grating the carrot and slicing the tomato.
✓ Step #3: Now let's enjoy this delicious and healthy recipe without gluten, coloring or spices.

He compartido en varias ocasiones sobre los momentos difíciles que hemos enfrentado con la salud de mi esposo. Comenzamos nuestra búsqueda de respuestas con un especialista, y poco a poco nos fuimos refiriendo a otros, hasta que, para mi sorpresa, llegamos a la especialidad de alergología. Decidí escribirle a la doctora por WhatsApp para consultar cómo funcionaban las citas y los costos. Con amabilidad, me respondió y me dio los pasos a seguir.
Afortunadamente, le programaron una consulta médica y, de inmediato, le realizaron un estudio de alergias que incluía pruebas para animales, alérgenos ambientales y alimentos. Cuando llegó el día de la cita, la doctora comenzó con una serie de preguntas y luego realizó el estudio, que reveló que era increíblemente alérgico a perros, gatos, cucarachas, cítricos, gluten, trigo y muchas otras cosas.
¿Por qué menciono todo esto? Porque es el trasfondo de la receta que quiero compartir hoy. En su búsqueda por opciones dietéticas saludables, la doctora me recomendó preparar sus alimentos en freidora de aire. Así que hoy les traigo una receta especial para personas con estas alergias: ¡pollo a la Broaster en avena de hojuelas, acompañado de papas fritas y ensalada de zanahoria y tomates! Con esto en mente, comenzamos nuestro camino hacia una alimentación más saludable.

BENEFICIOS PARA LA SALUD:
✓ Avena en hojuelas; Esta es una fuente exclente en fibra la cual ayuda a regular el tránsito intestinal, además de mantenernos con la sensación de saciedad. Es rica en vitaminas y minerales.
✓ Papas; Estás son ricas en carbohidratos, proporcionándonos mucha energía. Posee vitaminas y minerales.
✓Zanahorias; Esta es rica en antioxidantes, son bajas en calorías y posee gran cantidad de agua. Ayuda al sistema digestivo.
✓ Tomate; Este es un gran Antioxidante, tiene gran cantidad de agua y es bajo en calorías.
Ahora sí, sin más preámbulos, ¡vamos a conocer los ingredientes que usé para esta receta👇
✓ 1 kilo de papas
✓ 1 huevo
✓ Avena en hojuelas ( la cantidad necesaria para cubrir el pollo)
✓ 1 medida de sal
✓ 1 tomate
✓ Media zanahoria
✓ Aceite al gusto
Ahora vamos al paso a paso de esta sencilla receta👇
✓ Paso #1: Primero, precalentamos la freidora de aire. Luego, batimos un huevo en un recipiente y condimentamos el pollo con sal. Pasamos cada pieza de pollo por el huevo batido, asegurándonos de que quede bien cubierto. A continuación, lo pasamos por la avena en hojuelas hasta que esté completamente cubierto. Para lograr una textura aún más crujiente, repetimos el proceso: sumergimos nuevamente el pollo en el huevo y luego en la avena. Finalmente, llevamos el pollo a la freidora de aire para cocinarlo hasta que esté dorado y crujiente.
✓ Paso #2: Mientras el pollo se cocina en la freidora de aire, comienzo a pelar las papas, que previamente he lavado. Las corto en trozos de forma rústica y las mezclo con sal y un chorrito de aceite antes de llevarlas a la freidora junto con el pollo. A continuación, preparo la ensalada rallando la zanahoria y cortando el tomate en rodajas.
