When it comes to gastronomy, I am always active in the game, as we say here in my city. Since I was a very young girl, specifically since I was six years old, I have been immersed in the world of cooking. This is because my parents had to leave home early to fight for a better future for my brother and me.
My older brother, who is only a year older than me, is the person I admire the most. His talent and passion for cooking are unmatched. When my parents left us alone at home, he, at just seven years old, already knew how to prepare delicious dishes. He always took care of me, giving me attention, care and love.... And there was always a delicious dish on the table!
From him I learned the love and art of cooking. At the age of six, my passion for cooking and for the home was already gigantic. I am grateful to life for having parents and a brother like that; from them I learned values and the meaning of collaborating in daily household activities. Thanks to them I also learned to be independent and now I can transmit all that love to my children through delicious dishes.
During each of my pregnancies, my cravings were always Venezuelan-style fried rice and chop suey.... Something really delicious! My kids are dying for me to make this for them every week (ha ha ha ha). It's understandable, considering how scrumptious it is. Although I can't eat it now because of my diet, I have a special gift: I can cook without tasting and still know if the food is well seasoned. The seasoning is in my hands!
Today my dad came from town and, as always, brought me something to enjoy. This time it wasn't fresh or salted fish, but something better: shrimp and the usual fruits from our harvest. So I decided instantly: it's time to prepare a fried rice with meat and shrimp to spoil the family!
Now, without further ado, let's get to know the ingredients I used for this recipe👇!
✓ 3 medallions of meats.
✓ Half kilo of shrimps.
✓ 1 carrot
✓ 1 tablespoon salt
✓ Oil to taste
✓ 1 egg
✓ 1 soy sauce
✓ 1 onion
✓ 3 green chili peppers in place of the bell pepper.
✓ 1 stick of garlic to substitute for the scallion. You can use the one of your preference. I used what I had at home.
✓ 1 kilo of rice, which I had previously prepared from the day before.
Now let's go to the step-by-step of this simple recipe👇
✓ Step #1: We start by preparing the rice a day before, this is done by sautéing it and adding a cup of water less than the amount needed. When it has already cooled, I took it to the frizzer.
✓ Step # 2: Next, already having all the ingredients previously washed, we begin to cut them, starting with the meat in small squares. The vegetables we cut into julienne strips and reserve, such as carrot, onion, green peppers and sliced garlic.
✓ Step #3: Once the ingredients are ready, we start frying the ingredients. First, add a splash of oil to taste to fry the meat. Wait until it is hot, add the meat, add salt and sauté until it is well cooked and then set aside.
✓ Step #4: Now we sauté the shrimp with the remaining oil left over from the meat. Add the shrimp, add soy sauce, salt to taste and sauté until well cooked, then set aside with the meat.
✓ Step #5: now we sauté all the vegetables, adding them with a little soy sauce for a few minutes, when they have softened a little, set aside.
✓ Step #6: Already ready all the ingredients, I add a little oil along with it the egg, sauté until it is well stirred, then add the rice and start frying for a few minutes, finally I add the soy sauce to the rice and then add the ingredients.
✓ Step #7: Now we go to the final step. Now the rice is ready and well fried. With the egg, add the meat, shrimp and vegetables and start frying for about 10 minutes, then add the garlic and fry about five minutes more and turn off to serve.

Cuando se trata de gastronomía, siempre estoy activa en la jugada, como decimos aquí en mi ciudad. Desde muy niña, específicamente desde los seis años, he estado inmersa en el mundo de la cocina. Esto se debe a que mis padres debían salir de casa temprano a luchar por un futuro mejor para mi hermano y para mí.
Mi hermano mayor, que solo me lleva un año, es la persona a quien más admiro. Su talento y pasión por la cocina son inigualables. Cuando mis papás nos dejaban solos en casa, él, con apenas siete años, ya sabía preparar platillos deliciosos. Siempre cuidó de mí, brindándome atención, cariño y amor... ¡Y nunca faltaba un delicioso platillo en la mesa!
De él aprendí el amor y el arte de cocinar. A los seis años, mi pasión por la cocina y por el hogar ya era gigantesca. Estoy agradecida con la vida por tener unos padres y un hermano así; de ellos aprendí valores y el significado de colaborar en las actividades diarias del hogar. Gracias a ellos también aprendí a ser independiente y ahora puedo transmitir todo ese amor a mis hijos a través de platillos deliciosos.
Durante cada uno de mis embarazos, mis antojos eran siempre arroz frito al estilo venezolano y chop suey... ¡Algo realmente delicioso! Mis hijos mueren porque les haga esto todas las semanas (ja, ja, ja). Es comprensible, considerando lo riquísimo que es. Aunque ahora no puedo comerlo por mi dieta, tengo un don especial: puedo cocinar sin probar y aún así sé si los alimentos están bien sazonados. ¡La sazón está en mis manos!
Hoy mi papá llegó del pueblo y, como siempre, me trajo algo para disfrutar. Esta vez no fue pescado fresco ni salado, sino algo mejor: camarones y las frutas habituales de nuestra cosecha. Así que decidí al instante: ¡es hora de preparar un arroz frito con carne y camarones para consentir a la familia!
Ahora, sin más que decir, ¡vamos a conocer los ingredientes que usé para esta receta👇!
✓ 3 medallones de carnes.
✓ Medio kilo de camarones.
✓ 1 zanahoria
✓ 1 cucharada de sal
✓ Aceite al gusto
✓ 1 huevo
✓ 1 Salsa de soja
✓ 1 cebolla
✓ 3 Ajíes verdes en sustitución del pimentón.
✓ 1 rama de ajo porro para sustituir al cebollín. Pueden usar el de su preferencia. Usé lo que tenía en casa.
✓ 1 kilo de arroz, el cual ya tenía previamente preparado del día anterior.
Ahora vamos al paso a paso de esta sencilla receta👇
✓ Paso #1: Iniciamos preparando el arroz un día antes, este lo hacemos sofriendo y agregando una taza de agua menos de la cantidad necesaria. Cuando ya se haya enfriado, lo llevé al frizzer.
✓ Paso # 2: Seguidamente, ya teniendo todos los ingredientes previamente lavados, iniciamos a cortarlos, empezando por la carne en cuadros pequeños. Los vegetales lo cortamos en julianas y reservamos, como la zanahoria, cebolla, ajíes verdes y ajo porro en rodajas.
✓ Paso #3: Al tener listo los ingredientes, iniciamos a sofreír los ingredientes. Primeramente, agregamos un chorro de aceite al gusto para sofreír la carne. Esperamos que esté caliente, agregamos la carne, le colocamos sal y sofreímos hasta que este, esté bien cocido para luego reservar.
✓ Paso #4: Ahora sofreímos el camarón con el aceite restante que quedó de la carne. Agregamos el camarón, le colocamos salsa de soja, sal al gusto y sofreímos hasta que esté bien cocido, para luego ser reservado junto con la carne.
✓ Paso #5: ahora sofreímos todos los vegetales, agregándolos con un poco de salsa de soja por unos minutos, cuando estos hayan ablandado un poco, reservamos.
✓ Paso #6: Ya listo todos los ingredientes, agrego un poco de aceite junto a ello el huevo, sofrío hasta que esté bien revuelto, para luego agregar el arroz y empezar a freír por unos minutos, por último agrego la salsa de soja al arroz para luego agregar los ingredientes.
✓ Paso #7: Ahora vamos al paso final. Ya listo el arroz bien frito. Con el huevo, le agregamos la carne, los camarones y los vegetales e iniciamos a freír por unos 10 minutos, luego agregamos el ajo porro y freímos unos cinco minutos más y apagamos para servir.
