Hello friends of the community!
Today I'm going to answer the two questions, and I want to start with family traditions.
The Advent Wreath
One of the traditions that my mom and I have is that we make the Advent wreath, it is the period corresponding to the four Sundays before the 24th, every Sunday we make the prayer and light the corresponding candle. The photo is of our wreath, and we decorated it with the image of the pregnant Virgin Mary looking for an inn with Saint Joseph.
Specials Birthdays
This month is my husband's and my mom's birthdays, so we start the month celebrating from the 3rd; that is, from today, then we continue on the 14th.
I have a very dear cousin who has a birthday on December 1, but he is living in Colombia (I live in Venezuela), so we are only satisfied with congratulating him through social networks, but we don't celebrate his birthday anymore.
Hallacas
On the other hand, as many of you may know, our typical Christmas dish includes hallacas, whose preparation is quite laborious. The stew is prepared with beef, pork or chicken (we make it with the three types of meat), this stew is placed in corn flour dough and everything is wrapped in banana leaves and put to cook in hot water.
We eat hallacas mainly at Christmas and New Year's dinners, but also for breakfast, lunch, dinner on any other day, we also give them as gifts and even exchange hallacas. Hahaha!
And of course, everyone thinks that their hallaca is the best. Hahaha!
Then, to pass the time cooking, we play music, sing, and drink, either wine or whiskey, or whatever we have on hand. We end up exhausted and happy! Very happy...
The Christmas Tree
We have several ornaments to decorate at this time, but the tree is very special.
The photo is of our little tree and represents the accomplishment my mom and I achieved by moving to a new home.
We used to live in the south of the city, and dreamed of moving to the northwest, and since November 2011 we have been living here. We lived in a big house and moved to a small apartment, exchanging size for quality of life.
While we lived in our old house, the Christmas tree that we had burned, some children who had fireworks threw some next to the tree, and almost a misfortune happened, the tree caught fire, and thanks to some neighbors who acted in time did not happen to greater, after that we lasted several years without a tree.
When we moved, one of the first things we bought was that tree, new house, new life.
Thankyou @elizabethbit for this lovely idea!
Today I want to invite @auragarcia to join the community, she is new to Hive, so we can learn more about her.
