Hello Hive
A cornful morning to everyone on the Blockchain except you do not eat corn flakes or any other corn food then this greeting is not meant for you 😂 😂 😂
Its a pleasant thing to wake up to a farm like this, fully grown corn at fertilization stage in which we would be having the corn cobs here in the shortest possible time when the cobs will start bearing the grains
Just about 3-4 Months is all it takes to grow corn and guess what since we are lucky to have planted these earlier and with this amount of growth we are expecting that harvest will come really soon.
These first corn will be harvested and eating fresh without prior preservation and processing. This is the early planted corns as Planting of corn is usually done at least twice within the year is there is a good weather such as we are having this year.
The Early corn is often planted from May and Harvested in August while the late one is planted in August to be harvested in December. This planting time can equally be shifted forward to April and July depending on how earliest the rainfall for the year resumes.
Every crop needs a proper care and if the weather gets favourable there would be no reason to have a poor harvest.
We have only had to weed this particular corn farm once since some herbicides were applied before planting. And right after planting manual weeding was done at about 6 week of its growth. Moreover we haven't paired this corn with any other crop and it has equally been planted on one of our most fertile ground hence this much growth is expected.
This is one of the corn that we have planted in which there was absolutely no need to add inorganic fertilizer. The type of soil herr is very rare. Its a clay-loam soil with very high contents of organic fertilizer in which we have been growing corn on them for about 3years now without needing to use additional fertilizer.
All other of our topland corn farms needed an addition of NPK and Urea. Since the corns were all planted at different times, they are all growing at different pace and time too. I can't wait to pluck off the first ear of corn for this year.
