I've had so many experiences with the way people sleep. Throughout my college and university days, I had someone, and we stayed together. And I can tell a lot of stories about sleeping.
Before talking about the benefits of sleeping and the disadvantages of not sleeping well, I've gotten some of my friends to have some weird sleep.
There's this friend of mine called Muhammad. This guy can sleep. I mean, I've seen some that sleep, and it looks like the person is dead. On this very good day, I went out with a friend of mine, and Muhammad slept in my room and locked the door. On getting back home with my friend. I tried knocking on the door so that we could enter the house. Muhammad refused to wake up. At some point, I'm not really bored because I know it's always hard to wake him up, but then this was so different on this day.
I keep knocking for more than two good hours, shouting his name, but he doesn't hear. Everyone comes out and shouts his name, but he doesn't hear. And this is when I got really scared. I thought something bad had happened to him. I can't think of anything because I was really scared on this day. All of us were so afraid that perhaps something really bad would happen.
After staying out for two good hours, I was forced to break the door. As a norm, we all know he sleeps a lot, but no one knows it's up to that extent. When we break the door, we realize he's still sleeping, and nothing happens to him.
We need to beat him and pour water on his body; all that also takes a while for him before he wakes up. He then wakes up and asks us what is going on.
I was so confused and scared this very day. Honestly, maybe we are two different people. If I sleep and you come inside and call my name, I will definitely answer you. If eventually I do not answer, it means I'm so tired and need to rest. But most of the time, you don't need to touch me before you wake me up.
My sister always complains about me not having a good sleep. This is because most of the time I'm always on my phone or laptop. That asides. I only sleep for like three hours a night; I hardly even sleep.
This is extremely bad, and I'm already working on it. Because this is affecting my health and my mental health.
The benefits of good sleep cannot be overemphasized. Most of the time, when I wake up in the morning, I have body pain and I'm not well energized. This is caused by not having enough sleep.
One of the benefits of sleeping well is having good energy in the morning. You will be well ok to do whatever you wish to do during the day. I hate sleeping in the morning instead of working.
Also, if you aren't sleeping well, you will have insomnia, which is caused by late-night sleep, and so on. I sincerely do not pray to have this; only people who have it will tell you how bad it is.
At least it's good to have a good sleep for like eight good hours in the night. Most of us hadly sleep to that extent, and it's affecting us.
Most of the time, when I'm so tired of working or I don't have any ideas about the work I'm doing again, I love to sleep; once I'm awake, my brain resets and I work so well.
Staying on the phone for a long time and not getting good sleep can even shorten your life span. I've learned this, and I'm already working on it.
Already, I'm not Jona. I hardly even dream, or, should I say, I don't dream about. But then I've got Jona as a sister. My sister can even see what will happen tomorrow. I believe having a dream is just a gift from God. Or how can I even. I have a good dream when I'm not sleeping well. Of course, it's definitely not possible.
