Sorry folks! I totally missed the update for last month this side but I was deeply engrossed in accounting matters now that the HMRC are hot on our heels with regards to crypto here in the UK! I actually opened up so many spreadsheets in that time that I knocked the spreadsheet I used for these calculations out of "Recent Items"! Anyway, you didn't want to hear about my spreadsheet woes, let's have a look at the different levels needed per rank in LEO and HIVE and talk about your goals!
Goals
We should all have goals and these are really dependent on your own personal situation but for me, I like having a target to aim for as it keeps me motivated and I have that focus - as long as you don't burn out! The best way to prevent burn out is to make goals based around SMART principles:
- Specific
- Measurable
- Achievable
- Realistic
- Timed
An example on LEO could be to "reach x amount of Leo Power by y date", making it realistic in the process and adapting if necessary.
To help us with achieving our goals on HIVE/LEO, @hivebuzz and prominent figures in the LEO community have created different levels for us to get to with our powered up or staked crypto, depending on how much HIVE or LEO has been staked. The calculations I use can be found in an earlier post here and I've used the "circulating supply" for the tokens after a discussion with @onealfa.leo on my previous update.
Let's have a look at what you need today!

The circulating supply at time of calculating was 6,735,000 LEO. If total supply was used, the amount needed would be a little different with 978,500 LP needed for Toruk and you'd divide by 10 to get the rank beneath.
Last time, I said my goal was to get to 1,500 LP by the end of Jan but I'm floating around 1,466 LP now. I did send 202.2 LEO off to @lbi-token though for the LBI project but goals are goals - failed on that front haha! With the airdrops coming for Project Blank, I'll be staking more LEO though in the meantime. I'm getting about 2-3 LEO per day from delegating to @leo.voter and kept commenting/posting here and there so let's aim for 2,000 LP by the end of March!
With HIVE increasing in price over the last week, suddenly LEO got a little "cheaper" in relation to HIVE. It was 4:1 at one point, now about 2:1 so could be good chance to get a little more LEO in time for the airdrop!

HP is a little easier to work out as it tells you on Hive Block Explorer! Scroll down to "Hive per MVests" and it will tell you how much you need to be a minnow. Divide by 10 to get the redfish amount, multiply by 10 to dolphin, 100 for Orca, 1,000 for Whale and that's it!
For me, I reached my Orca goal at the end of last year and don't really have any set goals with HIVE for 2021 so just been leasing out some for HIVE to get more tokens and swap.btc, delegating to projects like CTP, LEO, Hustler etc... slowly but surely just building something up! I'm not a curator really, just a bloke who likes blogging so give my HP out to folks that can make some use of it!
