Greetings to all technology lovers, I'm Nitsu and I want to bring a short post telling about my experience when disassembling the titan type extruder of the CR10-V3.
Saludos a todos los amantes de la tecnología, soy Nitsu y quiero traer un posteo breve contando sobre mi experiencia a la hora de desarmar el extrusor tipo titan de la CR10-V3.
I bought this machine about two months ago and I was hoping not to have to touch the extruder for a long time because usually once you disassemble this part you start to have problems when printing because this part comes perfect from the factory and intervening on it is always for problems.
Esta maquina la compre hace unos dos meses y tenia la esperanza de no tener que toca el extrusor durante mucho tiempo porque generalmente una vez desarmas esta parte comienzas a tener problemas a la hora de imprimir ya que esta pieza viene perfecta de fabrica e intervenir en ella siempre es para problemas.
I don't remember exactly how the problem started, but in short the extruder (the area that melts the material) was clogged and the plastic was not coming out properly. There are always other options to unclog the extruder, one option is to increase the temperature and push the material manually to melt the melted plastic, another option is to use a fine needle and try to unclog the nozzle (the brass nozzle where the plastic comes out) but this time none of these had any effect so the last option I had was to disassemble it.
No recuerdo exactamente como empezó el problema, pero en resumen el extrusor (Zona que funde el material) se había tapado y no salía bien el plástico. Siempre existen otras opciones para destapar el extrusor, una opción es aumentar la temperatura y empujar el material manualmente para derretir el plástico fundido, otra opción es usar una aguja fina e intentar destapar el nozzle (La boquilla de latón de donde sale el plástico) pero en esta ocasión ninguna de estas surtió efecto así que la ultima opción que me quedaba era desarmarlo.
I knew how to disassemble the Ender 3 extruder but this one was very different and had more parts so I took pictures every time I removed a part so that if I didn't remember how to put it back together I could see the pictures and guide me. The good thing about the technology of our times is that there are also videos on the internet and I admit that I had to watch some of them to put it back together again. I did everything slowly and patiently because it is an expensive device and I did not want to break anything, although I had a little trouble with the fan guard because I did too much pressure and I broke it, but it is not something to worry too much, sometimes to learn you have to break things.
Tenia conocimiento para desarmar el extrusor de la Ender 3 pero este era muy diferente y contaba con mas piezas así que fui sacando fotos cada vez que sacaba una pieza para que si llegado el caso no recordaba como armarlo nuevamente pudiera ver las fotos y guiarme. Lo bueno de la tecnología de nuestros tiempos es que también hay videos en internet y admito que tuve que mirar alguno que otro para armarlo de nuevo. Hice todo despacio y con paciencia debido a que es un aparato caro y no quería romper nada, aunque tuve un poco de problemas con el protector del ventilador porque hice presión de mas y lo partí, pero no es algo de lo cual preocuparme mucho, a veces para aprender hay que romper cosas.
I started by separating the piece from the horizontal axis to work more comfortably, I had to remove a total of 6 screws, I always have a magnet or a space to place the screws so I don't lose them. Then I removed four screws from the transparent motor cover to access the area and see if there was any problem. I did some testing to see if everything was in place and if the gears were turning properly and there didn't seem to be any problems.
Empecé separando la pieza del eje horizontal para trabajar mas cómodamente, tuve que retirar en total 6 tornillos, siempre tengo un imán o un espacio para colocar los tornillos así no los pierdo. Luego retire cuatro tornillos de la tapa transparente del motor para acceder a la zona y ver si había algún problema. Hice algunas pruebas para ver si todo estaba en su lugar y si los engranajes giraban bien y no parecía haber ningún problema.

I removed the screws from the blue housing and accessed the heatsink, I was getting closer to the problem, I tried to remove the Teflon and noticed that I could not move in any way. I heated the extruder to 230º to see if it would loosen and anyway I could not. I had to grab a needle nose pliers and carefully stretch to see if I could remove it, do not deform the teflon because the inside diameter if it varies causes the plastic to not pass easily.
Saque los tornillos de la carcasa azul y accedí al disipador, ya me estaba acercando al problema, intente sacar el teflón y note que no podía no se movía de ninguna forma. Calenté el extrusor a 230º para ves si se aflojaba y de todas formas no podía. Tuve que agarrar una pinza de punta y estirar cuidadosamente para ver si podía retirarlo, no hay que deformar el teflón porque el diámetro interior si varia provoca que el plástico no pase fácilmente.
I used force with the tweezers stretching with such bad luck that it came loose and I hit my face splitting my lip, it hurt a lot and it started to bleed a lot. After stopping to heal myself and laugh at the stupid thing I had done, I continued working. Remember never to stretch something with a tweezers to the side of your face.
Hice fuerza con la pinza de punta estirando con tan mala suerte que se soltó y me golpeé en la cara partiéndome el labio, me dolió mucho además de que empezó a sangrarme un montón. Luego de detenerme para curarme y reírme de la gran estupidez que había hecho seguí trabajando. Recuerden jamás estirar algo con una pinza hacia el lado de sus caras.
I was able to remove the Teflon and found the problem, the tip was completely burned by wear which caused a plastic plug that did not let the material out. I replaced the white Teflon with a blue Teflon called Teflon Capricorn, which withstands higher temperatures. The small problem helped me to make an upgrade to the machine I had bought, so the saying "every cloud has a silver lining" applies perfectly.
Pude retirar el teflón y encontré el problema, la punta estaba totalmente quemada por desgaste lo cual provoco un tapón de plástico que no dejaba salir el material. Aproveche y cambie el teflón blanco por uno azul llamado teflón Capricorn que soporta más temperatura. El pequeño problema me sirvió para hacer una actualización a la máquina que había comprado así que el dicho no hay mal que por bien no venga aplica perfectamente.

Once the change was made it was time to assemble everything and leave it as it was, I did the whole process very slowly so as not to break anything and place everything correctly, it took almost an hour to assemble everything, but it was well assembled and surely with the experience I got for the next one I will be able to solve it faster.
Una vez realizado el cambio tocaba armar todo y dejarlo como estaba, hice todo el proceso muy despacio para no romper nada y colocar todo correctamente, tarde casi una hora en montar todo, pero quedo bien armado y seguramente con la experiencia que obtuve para la próxima voy a poder resolverlo más rápido.
And to test if everything was solved I decided to make a pair of key rings for a customer who had placed an order. They came out more than perfect.
Y para probar si todo estaba solucionado decidí realizar un parde llaveros para un cliente que me había hecho un pedido. Salieron más que perfectos.
