Just like many hivers, when the year was starting, I set some intentional hive goals I plan to achieve this year. It's been quite a journey, and I must say that despite the little challenges I have been facing, I have seen desirable results so far regarding my hive goals.
You see, setting goals has a way of making one remain focused. I don't know about others, but each time I pick up my diary to draft either yearly, monthly, weekly, or daily goals, it becomes a driving force for me to be up and doing. The commitment spirit in me will be greatly awakened, and if it's something I can control, I will always pursue the goals without interferences until I have my results.
I am still on the journey of hitting my hive goals for the year. No, I am not passing all despite any challenge. Before I proceed, let's take a sneak peek at the goals I set earlier this year and see how far I have gone with them.
The above is the image I designed on Canva when I wrote about my hive goals earlier this year. You could see that my goals are: growing my HP, adding HBDs in savings, improving my writing skills, and more that wasn't captured in the design, which includes but is not limited to:
Explore more communities on Hive and interact more with Hive users"..
Experience vlogging..
Use more of the original images..
The journey so far..
The bear market has lingered so much and has been an opportunity for most of us to accumulate more HP and liquid hive either by buying using our HBD rewards or through our Curation rewards. If you have been consistent with blogging and have been lucky with upvotes, then you must have accumulated much HP. Achieving my HP goal is possible because of the big dip so far. As at the time I set the goal, I had 6k HP and set the goal of achieving 10k HP at the end of the year. Currently, I have 9k HP plus 2.5k liquid hives in savings, which I have been buying using some of my HBD rewards. I am really taking this step in order not to miss out during the bull run or you have a better tactic?
Hitting 10k HP by the end of the year is very possible, hopefully especially if the dip continues, which I am not praying for. Overall, it's been a good ride on this particular goal.
I decided to be saving some HBDs specifically for emergency funds, and I must tell you that several times, this savings has come through for me and my family. It's a goal I really like the outcome it has been giving me, and even next year, I will still add it as one of my goals. The habit of saving I cultivated has made me disciplined with my spending, giving me the opportunity to attend to emergency needs without struggling much financially.
Regarding improving my writing skills, the idea was to become a great reader, consuming lots of contents both on chain and off chain, but trust me, offline responsibilities have been choking. I am nowhere close to being better regarding my writing skills, but I know it's a gradual process. I wouldn't be hard on myself; I would keep pushing towards achieving this goal.
Joining the Monthly InLeo prompt has been an added advantage in achieving the goal I stated above, "Explore more communities on Hive and interact more with Hive users." The prompt has a way of pushing me to different communities, and so far, I love the whole experience of my new discoveries. The hive blockchain indeed has a lot to offer, but only if you give it your time, and for sure, knowledge is guaranteed.
Still on my goal review; experiencing vlogging hasn't been a success so far. I will pass this one. You know why? It takes a good skill to create a quality video, which I don't have yet, which is why I gave up on publishing videos on Hive. Using original images is something I love doing, even though I am not a professional photographer, but so far, I have been capturing things out there, unlike before, and using them where suitable. This goal, I will say, is still a work in progress.

One major challenge I have been experiencing on my hive journey so far is the time factor. This year, I had a lot on my hands-off chain, and finding balance has been a challenge. I wouldn't say it's much of a problem since I am productive off chain only that things haven't been going the way I envision them to be, but overall, I am still on track with most of my goals.
How has been your hive journey so far since the year started? Let me know briefly in the comment section if you wish to let it out.
