In the past, before I became a tech enthusiast, my go-to feature for new tech was only the camera quality of the device; nothing else matters; can you imagine that? Although quality cameras are a good feature to look out for, especially for those of us in this space, there are more vital features to consider too in order to bring about balance in our choices. And funny enough, with all the bright cameras I got back then, the device wouldn't last long in my hands before developing issues, and I would just drop it and go for a new purchase, but not anymore. What changed?
You will agree with me that before you make any purchase around new tech, you will first establish the use case. What do you want to use the device for? It can be a mobile phone or a PC, etc. I think people who don't do much with their phones just make any choice—maybe the reigning brand or the one with a catchy camera, just like me in the past. That's, by the way, let's talk about my go-to feature for new tech currently, what makes the features so important to me, and how it fits into my daily life.
There are many features I look out for before taking my decision while buying a new device, but then there are three on my top list. One of them is the GB RAM; at least anything less than 8GB is not for me I don't have the strength to face processing power issues and the like that come with a laggy phone due to low space. I once bought a phone, used it two days, and returned it. Why? Because it doesn't answer me fast at each click, it lags like draw soup, hahaha 😂. I was just imagining how I can be doing my online activities diligently without frustration, and that made me really return the phone, look for money, and buy another one with higher processing power. Since I don't have a PC for my work, at least an Android with a good GB of RAM can serve.
Another important feature I consider is the battery capacity of the device. I am always on the go with my online activities, from real estate to hive communities, and these activities demand that I stay active and online always. Imagine dealing with a device with low battery life; that will be a lot of setback constantly looking for a charger, especially with my country with constant power issues. I don't only look out for battery capacity alone, but the one with fast charging features so it doesn't take me forever to power up my device.
Lastly, I love capturing every moment of my life, and of course a device with a quality camera is also my spec, but first, I must ascertain that the above two features are in place before I look into the camera aspect.
Overall, it's possible to get a device that has these features included; even though it might cost me more, I will rather have patience to save the money and get what will make me happy and satisfied during the usage.
