Hello everyone, how are you? I hope you are doing well. This time the rom is very interesting because it is related to pollution. This is quite close to my life because I live in a big city in Indonesia called Jakarta. If you are from Indonesia, you will know that Jakarta is a city with the highest level of pollution.
In the last few years, if I can no longer see the most beautiful mountains in Bogor from Jakarta. There is a lot of fog around the mountains and it is very dark. Well, this indicates that Jakarta has quite high pollution. Now, back to the question of how to reduce it and how do I reduce it? Jakarta has quite a lot of private vehicles. Although public transportation has been provided, many people choose to use private vehicles.
And this is also what causes air pollution in Jakarta to be increasingly worrying. Why do people choose private vehicles over public transportation? Because some areas in Jakarta cannot be accessed using public transportation. For example, busway or trains or what we usually call KRL, commuterline and MRT can only be accessed in places that can.
While in certain places, which are not large, it is difficult to access and reach. In fact, the busway stops themselves feel uncomfortable. This is what causes many people to switch to using private vehicles. In fact, there are many people, my friends, who use private vehicles because they are economical and efficient.
Efficient here does not take long compared to public vehicles. Yes, using public vehicles, we can spend quite a lot of time on the road. For example, one and a half hours to two hours, we are on the road to get to a place. When using private vehicles, it can be accessed in 30 minutes at the fastest. And that's also the case with many people who use public vehicles.
And from my experience as a layman, air pollution is a very bad pollution and has a big impact on the earth, especially the sustainability of the earth. And can this pollution be ended? Of course it can be ended. In what way? First, Providing public transportation facilities and infrastructure to the maximum. For example, roads for pedestrians that need to be repaired and need to be renovated very well. And motorcyclists, private vehicle users are no longer allowed to use pedestrian facilities.
And so it is with travel time. Public transportation can be accelerated. And another thing is the number of public vehicles, such as busway, KRL, or MRT, needs to be increased and access can also be accelerated. That is also what happens in several developed countries where increasing public facilities and improving public facilities so that pollution can be reduced properly.
And even the most important thing is the purchase of private vehicles which for example can be charged at 2-3 times the cost. So this is also what makes people think twice about using private facilities. Maybe that's all I can say. What do you think? Hopefully you agree with what I said. see you in the next story.
