Comdex has definitely been making some waves these past few days.

For those of you that aren't aware, I currently work with a Cosmos Cosmos ecosystem validator team called WhisperNode. We run a number of validator nodes within the cosmos, with our biggest by far being our Secret Network node (with over $20MM in staked/delegated assets to our node alone). We also run nodes for Sentinel, Osmosis, JUNO, and various others.

However, we also recently spun up a node for Comdex, where we currently 30th out of a total active set of 64; our node has a staked/delegated value of over $1.21MM. We are really excited about working with their team to help promote and grow the Comdex userbase, as well as to contribute to securing and ensuring a stable, decentralized, & healthy chain.

The price of $CMDX has surged a whopping 22% in the past 48 hours, shooting from the mid $1.90s to $2.40 as of writing this. Their upcoming platform has incredible value and is the first project to bring commodities trading to the decentralized market; this also has the additional benefit of potentially bringing in hundreds of millions (if not billions) of dollars into the Cosmos ecosystem, as well as the crypto economy as a whole.

Airdrop

The Comdex team also opened their airdrop upon launch of their LBP a few weeks ago, for those that may not be aware of its existence. Airdropping to stakers of LUNA, ATOM, XPRT and OSMO, the airdrop is currently claimable via 3 different methods; visit their airdrop landing page (https://airdrop.comdex.one) to check your stake and begin your claim.

Note: the Comdex stakedrop works a little differently compared to most other airdrops / stakedrops - 20% of your total claim is released within 2-8 hours of initially claiming. Then, the remaining 80% is divvied up over the next 12 months, with 20% being released automatically every 3 months.

For example, my claim amount was a little over 210 $CMDX. After completing their simple claims process, I was sent ~42 $CMDX tokens to my Comdex wallet (I used Keplr). In 3 months, I'll receive another ~42 $CMDX; this will continue an additional 3 times further until the total balance of my initial claim is released.

While some may frown upon such a distribution method, I actually don't mind it. Its a great way to prevent people from dumping on the market, allowing the market to grow and flourish!

Synthetic Commodities Trading

The team behind Comdex definitely thought long and hard about their mission before setting to the task of launching their chain.

Focusing on commodities, Comdex aims to offer a fully interoperable synthetics protocol, which will be the base protocol deployed on their upcoming synthetics AMM. This will open up a world of new opportunities and speculative trading for crypto enthusiasts. Bringing commodities trading to crypto is a HUGE deal in my opinion; this can potentially open the floodgates for retail traders operating within existing global markets.

cSwap & cAssets

The upcoming trading platform for Comdex, known as cSwap, will enable traders to swap between cAssets - synthetic commodity assets and debt instruments.

While other synthetic trading protocols do already exist, Comdex aims to bridge capital flows between DeFi and CeFi. Tokenizing commodity assets & debt gives investors exposure to trade finance debt by minting cAssets through collateralization of existing Cosmos ecosystem tokens. These include tokens like ATOM, XPRT, AKT, CMDX, OSMO, among many other springing up in the cosmosphere.

Fellow Cosmonauts can lock up their Cosmos assets and mint cAssets, enabling them to then participate in cSwap exchange trading.

Drawing in outside capital from global traders should also boost the overall value of the underlying collateralized assets, surging the market cap of various Cosmos tokens. This has huge upside potential for anyone currently participating in the Cosmos realm; for my Cosmonauts out there, you already know how promising being a part of the #IBCgang is, as we've seen token prices continually grow both in value, and in the total number of market participants.

This should be be a very obvious sign of what's to come for those that participate within this budding economy, and for those that aren't, this is your call to get in before it booms! Even if we do hit a bear market (which yes, does seem likely within the next few months), there's clear evidence that those that take part in these trading and market activities are sure to benefit, even in a down market.

Comdex Yield Farming

Even if you wish to forego participation in cSwap trading, there's still much to be gained by buying and staking / LP farming with your Comdex.

Currently, hodlers of $CMDX are yielding healthy returns by staking, despite a 30.04% inflation rate. The exact rates vary, but I've seen stable numbers around the mid 50% range as what's currently being reported (numbers vary from source to source).

However, if you're an Osmosis user, you can earn far greater returns right now by providing liquidity via LP farming. As of today, CMDX/OSMO (50/50) pool is yielding as high as 183.07% APR in OSMO rewards - this doesn't even include the bonus incentive rewards earned in Comdex as well, which lasts for another 79 epochs (days). Rebond your earnings daily to compound your interest, and you end up with a much higher APY figure, especially when factoring in those juicy external $CMDX incentives.

Bullish AF

I'm extremely bullish on Comdex all around. The project technicals and roadmap are incredibly promising, the yields are insane right now, and with the price steadily rising, this looks like an all around winner.

Once the cSwap AMM goes live, we are looking at a grand slam that could cause a massive surge in the entire Cosmos ecosystem. The key to success here, though, is to HODL, frens. Don't paperhand this; diamond hands only!
