I welcome you to my blog. Sometimes the lack of knowledge makes you think the wrong thing is the right thing to do or the wrong path you are on is the right path to follow. The lack of knowledge is really something you do not want to suffer from because when you finally realize how much harm you have caused yourself, it might be too late to turn back. Having a gadget (smartphone, laptop, computer) is one thing, and having a gadget that serves you and serves all the purposes you need a gadget for is another thing entirely; only those who have had my type of experience will understand better.
I never knew the importance of checking out the features of a gadget before buying them until it was too late and I was left to suffer the consequences of my actions, whereas a friend of mine knew but did not tell me; I had to discover that on my own, and it was one hell of an experience because it was a terrible one. Owning a gadget that serves you and the purpose for which you purchased it comes with a feeling of joy, happiness, and peace and saves you from a lot of stress you don't even know of until you come across people who own gadgets that cannot serve them, nor can they serve the purpose they were bought for.
Trust me when I say not all gadgets can serve you or serve the purpose you need a gadget for. My friend and I started working at a construction site with the plan to save up and buy new phones. Back then, they were not so expensive, so all we needed was at least 4 weeks, and we would be able to make our dreams come true. In no time, we had the money, around 30,000 naira ($19.59). We got to the shop where we wanted to make the purchase, and as always, there were phones with different features, all within our budget. They showed us phones that were 2 GB RAM and even 3 GB RAM. Though the 3 GB RAM phones were slightly above our budgets, we could still comfortably afford them.
My friend went for a phone with 2GB RAM, which cost exactly the amount we budgeted, and then there was me, who thought buying a phone with 2GB RAM for that amount was a waste of resources when you can buy those with 1GB RAM for 22,000 naira ($14.46). I thought a phone is a phone or a gadget is a gadget, and spending a higher amount on some of them when you can just buy the cheaper ones as they serve the same purpose was a wise thing to do, and I went for a 1GB RAM phone, and that is when and where my lesson about checking the features of a phone before buying started.
My 1GB RAM phone takes at least 10 to 20 minutes to boot. There are sites or apps you visit, and it hangs and requires rebooting before you continue using it, it is unnecessarily hot when in use. You cannot run two applications at the same time; one will close immediately when you open another, so minimizing to go copy an OTP or a code to proceed with any registration on the phone became an issue. I learned my lesson the hard way, and today I check the features of any device, whether smartphone, laptop, or computer, before buying to avoid history repeating itself.
