Hello, everyone.
I welcome you to my. The ticking of a wall clock does not stop to wait for anybody; whether ready or not, it keeps ticking, and it is left for the individual to try and meet up with the ticking. Growing up I will always hear adults say "time waits for no man" and I really did not read meaning into until I became one too, time does not wait for you, it is totally up to you to be on time, be late or don't be there at all but as for time it is moving whether you jump on it or not.
Sometimes I wish it was possible to pause time a little because you will have a lot on your desk with very little time to attend to all you have on your desk, sometimes it feels 24 hours is not enough and there are days where 24 hours feels like it is more than enough and all these depends on the number task you have and how focused and dilligent you are in carry them out. Sometimes the lack of focus makes it look like 24 hours is just too small to overcome all the tasks you have to overcome, but sometimes you just have to focus on overcoming the task and eliminating distractions, and you'd see how 24 hours is just enough.
We are all procrastinators in a way, we don't always get the task done immediately, sometimes we postpone for valid reasons and sometimes we postpone for reasons that not valid enough for the postponement to happen but we go ahead and do it anyways. We have all had to deal with consequences of procrastination, and it forced some of us to sit up, while we have those who still want to learn the hard way and are waiting until procrastination hits them down to a critical point before they adjust.
There are so many consequences that come with being a procrastinator, which makes changing that habit very vital:
Missed opportunities: As a procrastinator you tend to miss more opportunities than those who are always on time, one time I missed the opportunity to be given a scholarship because I kept postponing when to fill out the application form until it was past the deadline date and all my friends who applied were given scholarships except me (the procrastinator).
Less productive: As a procrastinator you become less productive because you spend most of your time lazying around instead of being productive, one who focuses on his task and tries to overcome them ends up overcoming more task than a person that postponed almost all his to later or even the next day.
Increased stress: This one many students who wait until the deadline before they start doing assignments that were given weeks ago can relate to; the pressure and how stressful it becomes to get the assignment done when the deadline is near is something words cannot express. You stress more whereas if you had started earlier you can even take a break in between but now that the deadline is near you cannot do that.
The truth is that on some days yes, and on most days no, I know the consequences that come with procrastination, so I hardly give in to it just so I can avoid having to suffer the consequences.
