Honestly, guys, the reason why I like to read other Hive curator's posts or watch their 3speak video is to learn something new every day, and like the popular saying goings the day you stop learning is the day you start dying and I do not want that for myself and I bet you guys reading my post do not want that either and to stay relevant in the crypto industry you must be ready to learn new things and also gather new information every day if possible.

Now, that being said let us jump into what I have learned recently about HBD (Hive Backed Dollar) from watching the latest update or updates on HBD Post-HardFork 26 on Hive, so I am a bit ashamed that I did not know what the HBD debt ceiling was before the HBD haircut would come into action meaning you and I would not be able to earn HBD anymore just Hive and HP (Hive Power), for those that do not know what a Debt ceiling means I would drop the definition now below.

What is Debt Ceiling

Debt ceiling, statutory or constitutionally mandated upper limit on the total outstanding public debt of a country, state, or municipality, usually expressed as an absolute sum.

But for Hive and HBD, the debt ceiling is the limit or the total amount of HBD that can ever be in existence or that can be mined from our post, if the debt ceiling is exceeded then we will not be able to earn HBD anymore it will just be 100% Hive that would be earned instead of 50% HBD and 50% HIVE earned per post as usual except you choose to set it to 100% Hive meaning all your post rewards would be automatically powered up as HIVE Power.

The previous debt ceiling was 10% of the total HIVE market capitalization value, so since Hive's total market cap is $230 million, 10% of that would be $23 million which means there could only be $23 million HBD ever and that was the market cap of HBD before the Hive Hard-Fork 26 but now that number has increased as debt ceiling of HBD is now 30%, meaning the market cap of HBD has now increased to $69 million, so HBD now has more Liquidity.
