Introduction:
Jorge and his family, were sitting at night, in the living room of his flat watching a TV series, when suddenly a loud bang was heard on the awning of the flat, which frightened everyone present. Later, when peeking out of the balcony, they saw on the floor at the entrance of the building, pieces of stone and a lot of sand, which indicated that a stone had fallen, from a higher place, which was worrisome, because Jorge lived on the 17th floor in a 20-story building.
The next day, Jorge, came down and looked from the ground floor of the building towards the flats above and the rooftop, and he could see how the rooftop frieze was peeling off, and also saw, how some macaws, which stood on the edge of the rooftop, flew out almost immediately, and while they were making pieces of frieze fell from a height of more than 20 floors. Jorge, seeing this situation, informed the members of the Condominium Board what had happened, so that the necessary measures for repair could be taken.
History:
A few weeks after what happened with the fall of the stone, Jorge could not sleep because a drop of water from an air conditioning drain fell on the awning that is on the ceiling of his room. This situation had happened several times, and Jorge had talked to the neighbour on the 19th floor to correct the air fault, however, in a year and a half, the neighbour had never fixed the air conditioning fault. And what he did was use it, until 11 o'clock at night and then turned it off, however when they forgot to turn off the air, Jorge, could not sleep, because the torment of the drop of water fell right on the window of his room next to his bed.
—Hello Jorge, God bless you, how did you wake up? —Said his mother.
—Hello blessing. I'm very tired, because once again Luis' daughter left the air on. —
—What a bummer, okay, talk to Luis again! — Answered his mother.
—I have already written to Luis, and he is in the USA, he told me that he is going to write a WhatsApp to his daughter, to tell her that she should remember about the use of air conditioning. But it's really a bummer. —
—It is best to maintain good relations with neighbours and avoid problems. —Said Jorge's mother.
Life continued as normal for a couple of days, until the drops of water began to fall again and Jorge spent two days late at night, due to the noise. Jorge wrote and passed messages to Luis, and he finally gave his daughter the phone, and she communicated directly with Jorge, informing him that she had turned on the air, since she was hot.
Jorge, in a very polite way, told him —If you are hot, it is a personal problem, and you must solve that problem, but without disturbing others, and every time you leave the air on, you disturb two flats, two families, who have to spend a very bad night, so that you have comfort. And it has been more than a year and a half in this situation, so what they should do is send the air conditioner to be repaired, so that you can use it, without disturbing the other neighbours. —
After this conversation, the drop of water only fell again once. But a week later, another large piece of stone fell on the roof. When Jorge saw this, he called the people in charge of the condominium again, but this time he went up with them to carry out an inspection.
Upon seeing the situation of the rooftop frieze, in a direct way, everyone present at the inspection, was scared to see the level of deterioration of the frieze, and decided, to do two things, first, remove the large pieces of frieze that were about to fall, and the second thing was to warn the neighbours of the building by the condominium group, that these works were going to be carried out, with the intention of avoiding accidents, while, the budgets for the repair were requested.
The next day, Jorge notified the neighbours on the 18th floor and notified Luis in the USA, and her daughter, via WhatsApp, to alert them to the situation, and also, she asked them to place a piece of wood or something over the window, which would serve as protection, to protect the air conditioning. Jorge was impressed with the response that Luis sent him on WhatsApp, where he said: "Thank you very much for letting Jorge know. I also wanted to ask you, since you know about construction, if you could fix the air conditioning problem, since my daughter wants to use it, and the people I have contacted, are charging me too much to fix the problem. I pay you, the work, will you let me know if you are going to do it?’’ Jorge did not answer anything, because it seemed like an abuse to him, that after a year and a half, his neighbour, asked him to fix the air conditioning, since other people were charging him too much.
Sure enough, two people from the condo and I started to remove the broken frieze from the roof, while we were doing the work, a piece of frieze fell, on the awning of Jorge's flat, and he wrote, saying that he was going up to help.
When Jorge arrived, he told us that Luis' mother was on the stairs, shouting and complaining, because of the noise and the fear that the falling debris gave him.
While he was telling us, we managed to remove the biggest pieces that were about to fall. In the end, the neighbours were notified, that it was already possible to enter through the main door of the building, and they were informed, that until the roof frieze was completely repaired, some pieces could continue to fall. But the biggest and most dangerous pieces had already been removed.
When we were going down the stairs to our houses, Jorge asked me to accompany him to the 19th floor to show Luis's mom what was happening and explain the situation, since he saw her very distressed, when she was going up to the rooftop.
Sure enough, we went down to Luis' house, Jorge knocked on the door, but Luis' mom treated us both like we were dogs, she yelled at us before opening the door and when we tried to explain what was happening she mistreated Jorge. And we ended up retiring, and leaving the lady with her fit of anger or nerves.

Afterwards, we met at Jorge's house, he passed the material that had been removed to the neighbours of the 18th, as well as to Luis. Then he sent a message to Luis, and wrote to him, that he had knocked on the door of his house, to explain to his mom the situation, and that his mom, either because of nerves or another situation, had mistreated him and treated him very badly, and also told him, that he was not going to do any work at home.
Luis replied with a WhatsApp from the USA, saying, that he didn't believe in what Jorge was saying, that he had knocked on the door to mistreat his mom and things like that.
Jorge, after both mistreatment, that of Luis' mother and that of Luis, passed an audio to Luis, where he said the following; ‘I knocked on the door of your house to do a favour to you and your family, since I didn't have to pass through there, and to do you a favour, I only received mistreatment from you and your mother. From today, I stop contemplating, if your daughter bothers me with the air again, I denounce her, and not you, but her, who is the one who abuses with the air conditioning. I already have a year and a half of messages, where you say that you are going to fix the air, and there is enough proof, photos and videos, to prove the continuous lack of your family and its abuse towards the neighbours. I think I have been too respectful and too tolerant with you and your family for the treatment you have given me and my family.’
After that, he sent her the same message in writing, and told her, about three times, that if she had problems with the air again, he would report them to the prosecutor's office. When Jorge finished, he told us all that he felt bad having to take that position, but that he had been forced to do it.
Her mother said to her, ‘‘Jorge, let the water run from under the bridge, you've done everything you had to do, we've been good neighbours, we've tolerated the nuisance of the air, for more than a year, you've been inundated with the bad answers of the daughter and the rudeness of the mother and Luis. Let everyone reap what he sows."
From that moment and the threat of the complaint to the prosecutor's office, the problem of air conditioning in Jorge's house is over, and he is now more convinced than to present the situation again, the solution is the complaint, in public entities.
Personally, I think that after this situation, Jorge learned that one should be tolerant and respectful, but also that everything has a limit, and I also think that Luis learned his lesson. In the end, they both let the water run, hoping to give an answer to the situation.

Creative Nonfiction: La tolerancia de un buen vecino.
Introducción:
Jorge y su familia, estaban sentados por la noche, en la sala de su departamento viendo una serie de televisión, cuando de repente se escuchó un fuerte golpe en el toldo del departamento, lo que asustó a todos los presentes. Posteriormente, al asomarse al balcón, vieron en el piso de la entrada del edificio, pedazos de piedra y mucha arena, lo que indicaba que se había caído una piedra, desde un lugar más alto, lo cual era preocupante, porque Jorge vivía en el piso 17 en un edificio de 20 pisos.
Al día siguiente, Jorge, bajó y miró desde la planta baja del edificio hacia los pisos de arriba y la azotea, y pudo ver cómo se estaba despegando el friso de la azotea, y también vio, cómo unas guacamayas, que se paraban al borde de la azotea, salieron volando casi de inmediato, y mientras hacían pedazos de friso cayeron desde una altura de más de 20 pisos. Jorge, al ver esta situación, informó a los miembros de la Junta del Condominio lo sucedido, para que se tomaran las medidas necesarias para la reparación.

Pocas semanas después de lo sucedido con la caída de la piedra, Jorge no podía dormir porque una gota de agua de un desagüe del aire acondicionado cayó sobre el toldo que está en el techo de su habitación. Esta situación había sucedido varias veces, y Jorge había hablado con el vecino del piso 19 para corregir la falla del aire, sin embargo, en año y medio, el vecino nunca había solucionado la falla del aire acondicionado. Y lo que hizo fue usarlo, hasta las 11 de la noche y luego apagarlo, sin embargo cuando olvidaron apagar el aire, Jorge, no pudo dormir, porque el tormento de la gota de agua cayó justo en la ventana de su habitación al lado de su cama.
—Hola Jorge, Dios te bendiga, ¿cómo te despertaste? - Dijo su madre.
—Hola bendición. Estoy muy cansada, porque una vez más la hija de Luis dejó el aire encendido. —
—¡Qué fastidio, está bien, habla con Luis de nuevo! - Respondió su madre.
—Ya le escribí a Luis, y él está en USA, me dijo que le va a escribir un WhatsApp a su hija, para decirle que se acuerde del uso del aire acondicionado. Pero es realmente un fastidio. —
—Lo mejor es mantener buenas relaciones con los vecinos y evitar problemas. — Dijo la madre de Jorge.
La vida continuó normal durante un par de días, hasta que las gotas de agua comenzaron a caer nuevamente y Jorge pasó dos días hasta altas horas de la noche, debido al ruido. Jorge le escribió y le pasó mensajes a Luis, y finalmente le dio el teléfono a su hija, y ella se comunicó directamente con Jorge, informándole que había encendido el aire, ya que estaba buena.
Jorge, de una manera muy educada —le dijo-Si tienes calor, es un problema personal, y debes solucionar ese problema, pero sin molestar a los demás, y cada vez que dejas el aire encendido, molestas a dos pisos, a dos familias, que tienen que pasar una noche muy mala, para que tengas comodidad. Y ha pasado más de año y medio en esta situación, así que lo que deberían hacer es enviar el aire acondicionado a reparar, para que puedas usarlo, sin molestar a los demás vecinos. —
Después de esta conversación, la gota de agua solo volvió a caer una vez. Pero una semana después, otro gran trozo de piedra cayó sobre el techo. Cuando Jorge vio esto, volvió a llamar a los encargados del condominio, pero esta vez subió con ellos a realizar una inspección.
Al ver la situación del friso de la azotea, de manera directa, todos los presentes en la inspección, se asustaron al ver el nivel de deterioro del friso, y decidieron, hacer dos cosas, primero, retirar los grandes trozos de friso que estaban a punto de caerse, y lo segundo fue avisar a los vecinos del edificio por parte del grupo condominio, que se iban a realizar estas obras, con la intención de evitar accidentes, mientras, se solicitaban los presupuestos para la reparación.
Al día siguiente, Jorge avisó a los vecinos del piso 18 y avisó a Luis en USA, y a su hija, vía WhatsApp, para alertarlos de la situación, y además, les pidió que colocaran un trozo de madera o algo sobre la ventana, que les sirviera de protección, para proteger el aire acondicionado. Jorge quedó impresionado con la respuesta que Luis le envió por WhatsApp, donde dijo: "Muchísimas gracias por avisarle a Jorge. También quería preguntarle, ya que sabe de construcción, si podría solucionar el problema del aire acondicionado, ya que mi hija quiere usarlo y las personas con las que me he puesto en contacto me están cobrando demasiado para solucionar el problema. Yo te pago, el trabajo, ¿me avisas si lo vas a hacer?"Jorge no contestó nada, porque le pareció un abuso, que después de año y medio, su vecino, le pidiera que arreglara el aire acondicionado, ya que otras personas le estaban cobrando demasiado.
Efectivamente, dos personas del condominio y yo comenzamos a quitar el friso roto del techo, mientras hacíamos el trabajo, cayó un trozo de friso sobre el toldo del departamento de Jorge, y él escribió, diciendo que subía a ayudar.
Cuando Jorge llegó, nos contó que la mamá de Luis estaba en las escaleras, gritando y quejándose, por el ruido y el miedo que le daba la caída de escombros.
Mientras él nos decía, logramos quitar las piezas más grandes que estaban a punto de caerse. Al final, se avisó a los vecinos, que ya era posible entrar por la puerta principal del edificio, y se les informó, que hasta que no se reparara por completo el friso del techo, podrían seguir cayendo algunas piezas. Pero las piezas más grandes y peligrosas ya habían sido retiradas.
Cuando bajábamos las escaleras hacia nuestras casas, Jorge me pidió que lo acompañara al piso 19 para mostrarle a la mamá de Luis lo que estaba pasando y explicarle la situación, ya que la vio muy angustiada, cuando subía a la azotea.
Efectivamente, bajamos a la casa de Luis, Jorge tocó a la puerta, pero la mamá de Luis nos trató a los dos como si fuéramos perros, nos gritó antes de abrir la puerta y cuando intentamos explicar lo que estaba pasando maltrató a Jorge. Y terminamos retirándonos, y dejando a la dama con su ataque de ira o nervios.

Después, nos reunimos en casa de Jorge, él pasó el material que se había retirado a los vecinos del 18, así como a Luis. Entonces le mandó un mensaje a Luis, y le escribió, que había llamado a la puerta de su casa, para explicarle a su mamá la situación, y que su mamá, ya fuera por nervios u otra situación, lo había maltratado y tratado muy mal, y además le dijo, que no iba a hacer ningún trabajo en casa.
Luis respondió con un WhatsApp de USA, diciendo que no creía en lo que decía Jorge, que había llamado a la puerta para maltratar a su mamá y cosas así.
Jorge, después de los dos maltratos, el de la madre de Luis y el de Luis, le pasó un audio a Luis, donde le decía lo siguiente; ' Llamé a la puerta de tu casa para hacerte un favor a ti y a tu familia, ya que no tenía que pasar por allí, y para hacerte un favor, solo recibí maltrato de ti y de tu madre. A partir de hoy, dejo de contemplar, si tu hija me vuelve a molestar con el aire, la denuncio, y no a ti, sino a ella, que es la que abusa con el aire acondicionado. Ya llevo año y medio de mensajes, donde dices que vas a arreglar el aire, y hay pruebas suficientes, fotos y videos, para demostrar la continua falta de tu familia y su maltrato hacia los vecinos. Creo que he sido demasiado respetuoso y tolerante contigo y con tu familia por el trato que me has dado a mí y a mi familia.’
Después de eso, le envió el mismo mensaje por escrito y le dijo, unas tres veces, que si volvía a tener problemas con el aire, los denunciaría ante la fiscalía. Cuando Jorge terminó, nos dijo a todos que se sentía mal por tener que asumir ese cargo, pero que se había visto obligado a hacerlo.
Su madre le dijo: "Jorge, deja correr el agua de debajo del puente, has hecho todo lo que tenías que hacer, hemos sido buenos vecinos, hemos tolerado las molestias del aire, durante más de un año, has estado inundado con las malas respuestas de la hija y la grosería de la madre y Luis. Que cada uno coseche lo que siembre."
A partir de ese momento y la amenaza de la denuncia ante la fiscalía, se acabó el problema del aire acondicionado en la casa de Jorge, y ahora está más convencido que de volver a presentar la situación, la solución es la denuncia, en entidades públicas.
Personalmente, creo que después de esta situación, Jorge aprendió que uno debe ser tolerante y respetuoso, pero también que todo tiene un límite, y también creo que Luis aprendió la lección. Al final, ambos dejaron correr el agua, con la esperanza de dar una respuesta a la situación.
