One more season ending, and again not that many reasons to cheer: okish rewards, but nothing extraordinary. Yet, it's always fun to open a bunch of chests in a row! And speaking of fun, since this week's social media challenge's prompt is Tips for beginners... fun should be the goal!
I was fortunate enough to be here almost from the beginning, and the experience from those first times can no longer be emulated, unfortunately: you could gain cards by playing AND trade them, growing your collection easier. The soulbound cards do take some fun away from it, especially after weeks and weeks of drops that you don't really want. But (while hoping that those days come back when we finally get rid of the bots in ranked play...) let's focus on the now! If you're starting the game:
See some strategy videos, check some battles, and learn the rules! Splinterlands is getting more complex and it's natural for a newbie to be a bit overwhelmed, but that changes soon after some games. Plus, in the Splinterlands discord group there's a whole bunch of people willing to help out with any tips and tricks you need.
Use the rental market and experiment with some card combinations: some rentals now are dirt cheap, and you can get a team that can get you to silver leave with less than a dollar for a full season! Check some deck suggestions in Peakmonsters, for instance.
If you enjoy the game, buy the Summoner's spellbook: it's your gateway to start accumulating assets for ever.
