Compliments of the season, everyone in this splinterlands community. I believe you have started setting up your goals for this year. I have crystallized mine already, moving forward to accomplish them one after the other.
One of my goals for this new year, especially on splinterlands gaming platform, is to upgrade my gaming skills and create more reliable winning strategies. There are more battles to be fought and won and higher leagues to participate too. Splinterlands is a nice game to participate, not only that, but it will help build your cognitive skills.

Yesterday I stumbled on my friend's blog @kingswill, who shared her splinterlands battle using dragon cards. I read through, and it interests me to participate on this contest. Just this evening, I had an exciting moment, trying out my first battle using the dragon cards.
Where are my Dragon Cards
I needed to check up my cards collection if there are dragon cards there. Glad that I saw one and splinterlands had magnanimously given me access to use one.
The Dragon summoner is a playable card while the Dragon monster unit is mine. The Naga Assassin is a rare dragon card rated with 2 manna. The card has 2 health, 5 speed and 1 ranged attack element.
Drake of Arnak, a rare summoner dragon card is rated 4 manna with the ability to add One armor to all friendly monsters.
The call for Battle
I called for the battle and I was granted just 14 manna cap. I wished it was bigger but it was my first trial, so I had to try it out with no hopes of winning.
The Battle Preparation and Line-up
Both my team and the enemy's team summoned only 3 card units for the battle. I did chose the fire element to fight with my dragon cards.
Antoid Platoon, Naga Assassin (Diamond card) and Scavo Firebolt were the summoned monsters for the first, second and third battle positions respectively
At the start of the battle, each of my monsters lost 1 health due to the enemy's use of Thaddius Brood summoner. Thanks to Drake of Arnak that gave my team each 1 armor. I was happy that there was no magic attacker in the battle.
The Fight
It was an unpredictable battle. My monster at the first position did feature a strong resistance to attack from the enemy monster. This was due to the shield ability of the monster unit.
I first lost Scavo Firebolt to the fight and almost lost touch of the win. However, Antoid Platoon mad repeated activated shields.

my dragon monster, Naga Assassin, was strong enough with its high Speed of ranged attack. It helped to destroy two of the enemy's monster units and we won the battle with two monsters standing. here is the link to the battle.
It was really a surprising win with 20 rating points secured. That wa my first ever splinterlands battle using a dragon summoner and card and it ended with a win.
My Winning strategy
I have always used Fire cards and I know how strong Antoid Platoon can be on the first position. It did not fail in this battle. It's a trusted strategy.
My Take on Dragon Cards
It was cool using the dragon cards and securing a win in the first shot. The +1 armor was a huge help for the battle. This would not have been the case if I was to battle against a magic attacking monster.
I look forward to buying and using more dragon cards in my future battles. Was a wonderful experience.
