Hello there, this is my entry to the new "Battle Mage Secret Weekly Challenge!". If you want to participate or know more about the challenge, click here. This week we have to formulate a strategy with the Little League ruleset.

RULESET: Little League
With the Little League ruleset, only units and summoners with a mana cost of 4 or less may be used.

The 'Little League' ruleset is easy to understand as only units with 4 or less mana cost may be used. This also makes the encounter a little challenging as you have a limited no of units to choose from. With just 4 mana it is not easy to use a strong tank at the front and I go for two units with armour that can hold the front of the lineup.
Let's see how this ruleset affects my lineup and how I strategies for the following battle. But first, let's focus on my lineup.

My Lineup
This is my lineup for the battle
It was a whooping 47-mana cap battle which was such a waste of mana xD. It had and had the following rulesets:
Little League: Only monsters and summoners that cost 4 mana or less may be used in battles.
Up to Eleven: All monsters have the amplify ability.
All but Life elements were active during this encounter. I had to give extra armor to all my friendly units so I chose Keyla Frendul as my summoner. It gave +1 speed to all my units as well.

I used the Cruel Sethropod as my tank. Since the ruleset was 'Little Leagues', this unit had the best available defences left. With 4 armour and 6 health along with extra armour given by summoner, it would be a strong tank at the front. It also had good offence and could deal 2 melee attacks with okayish speed.
Next in my lineup was Uraeus. It also attacked with 2 melee attack damage with better speed than the last one. The best part about it is its 'sneak' ability which will attack from the last and adds a surprise element to my lineup. This ability is very useful and even more in the lower leagues.
Pelacor Bandit was next in my lineup. Yet another melee attacker dealing 2 melee damage and had the 'flying' ability which made it harder to hit. Its high speed and that ability help him dodge many attacks, especially from melee and ranged attackers.
Doctor Blight was the only mage in my lineup. Although, it deals only 1 magic attack that attack has the chance to inflict 'poison' which is very deadly. It also comes with 'affliction' and 'camouflage' and that's what makes this unit a legendary one. All of this in just 4 mana is very efficient and effective.
Merdhampir was a ranged attacker with great abilities. I love the 'life leech' ability in this game and is one of my favourites of all. This helps him to increase his max health to even better and can be very dangerous in low mana cap battles or battles with Little League ruleset just like here.
Last but not least was Igor Darkspear, another ranged attacker with similar stats but no abilities of his own. All that costs only 2 mana and I used this at the end for its relatively bigger health of 5. It also dealt 2 ranged attacks even with this little cost. I used it in my last position to shield my Merdhampir from sneaky attacks from my opponent.
Now that my lineup was set let's talk about my strategy for this game.

My Strategy
Since this was a 'little league' ruleset and got converted into effectively a low mana cost battle. I had to protect my units by giving them extra armour and that's why I went with the Keyla Frendul not only extra armour it gave extra speed points as well which is very important in lower mana cap battles.
I used Cruel Sethropod as my tank which was one of the best units that came under 4 mana cost. Its armour and health were plenty to stand there for some time while the rest of my units take down enemy units from the back. I didn't focus on just one attack type and went with multiple attack types and ended up using all of them.
All of the units had set roles and the placement of those units was crucial as well. I also used a unit with relatively good health at the end of the lineup as I was expecting them to use 'sneaky' units as well.
That was exactly the strategy I implemented here. With Uraeus and Pelacor Bandit enemy's back line was in danger.
This strategy, as you will see, worked in my favour and gave me an easy win in the end.

I will share my battle here, which I have uploaded to YouTube. Battle Link

My opponent went with a good tank Xenith Monk which had the healing ability so it was crucial for my team to take down it quickly. They also went for a heavy magic attack and prepared against it as well.
Round 1 looked like a tough round. All of the enemy units attacked my tank while my attack power was divided between their tank and the last unit. And my tank was eliminated right in round 1.
The next round was a moving one where I eliminated their critical unit in the back of the lineup which was providing extra protection to all their unit. This was a big victory for me and now the game was even again. Soon, their Xenith Monk succumbed to the continuous attacks and got off the battlefield.
It looked like a tight game but after their tank got eliminated, the next couple of rounds just shifted in my favour and the end, it was an easy win for me. Didn't think that at the start of the battle.

Conclusion
Little League is an interesting ruleset, it forces you to choose your lineup very carefully, and a slight mistake will change the course of the outcome easily. I used a relatively strong tank at the front in the form of Cruel Sethropod and used Keyla Frendul to augment all my units with extra armour that can the difference between winning and losing in those tight battles.
I used a couple of 'sneaky' monsters too which attacked the last unit in the enemy camp and most often than not players have weaker units at the end which can be a good strategy as well. It has always been a challenging ruleset for me.
Let me know if this ruleset bothers you or if you just ignore it and go back to the fundamentals and don't do anything special.
