Hello, gamers. Welcome back to my blog.

We are in the middle of season 11 of Rocket League. I have yet to win a tournament this season but there is still ample time left to play. I might snatch one however, I have to play the game to win...lol
I hate to tell you that I have not played it for more than a week and once you take a long break from a highly mechanical game like this, your control of the game becomes shitty. It takes so much time to regain that hand-eye coordination and get back to optimal performance.
Take a look at the mess I made today. I played a lot of games, starting at around diamond III Div I but came down as low as diamond II Div I but I gained some much-needed wins at the later part of the session.
Let me also share my stats with you. I am getting close to 5K online games. I still have a healthy win % of 52.4%, which tends to stick to 50% in competitive games. If you have played competitive games where you are not improving at a tremendous pace and have played enough games... your win percentage will be around 50%.

Rule 1 in Rocket League
There is an interesting rule in rocket league which is kind of collectively made by the community. The rule says if you ever get stuck face to face with another car you should keep on accelerating and should not reverse. Even if you are losing by just 1 goal or 10.

While you can't enforce the rule by any means but the player who breaks this rule faces the wrath of the gaming community. In the above screenshot (which happened in today's game Timestamp: 27:55), my team was trailing by 1 goal with just under 30 secs left but I could do nothing in this position and we have a 1v1 game on the field xD.
While we cannot break the rule but if we get bumped then it might get broken and then we can continue our game.
Generally, this happens between players of the opposite team. But in extremely rare cases you can get in rule 1 with your teammate as well and you can't break it. So, say you are playing 2v2 but after rule 1 with your teammate, it will be like 2v0 LOL. Fortunately, the cars reset for kickoff after every goal.
I don't know the full story behind this rule, who came up with this or when. Maybe no one knows, but every serious rocket league player knows this rule and they follow it religiously. These little quirky things show the power and unity of gaming communities.
Thanks for reading...
Until next time...
