today i bring you some dusty moldy oldies from my favorite decade of hip hop (and music in general)
Tony Tee
"Time to Get Physical"
1988
I really can't find much info on this artist or release, other than the discogs page. Its a pretty decent "golden age" release with production and editing credits from terry riley and b-fats.
Ms. Melodie
"Hype According To Ms. Melodie"
1988
r.i.p. to ms. melodie, former Boogie Down Productions member. Produced by KRS-One.
White Boys
"This is Hardcore, Is it Not"
1987
at least they are self aware. i dont know what it is, but while looking up this record, one of the guys stars in some amc show called 'freakshow.' didnt know there was a music video-pretty funny. nice moustache, dude. i wonder if they ever heard the beastie boys or run dmc?
Whodini
"Escape"
1984
Great sophomore release from this early crossover group. I didn't know there was a video for this one. i think whodini is underrated- they have a good amount of Classic songs. on this album alone is "freaks come out at night", "friends", "big mouth", and "five minutes of funk"
i hope you liked my post!💿
