Hello Hive family! I wanna come out of my shell and share with you all about "ME". I am Niña Donna M. Santos, 41 years of age, happily married for 18 years and a working mom.
When I was a little girl, everyone called me as "Niña" but when I get older, others used to call me as "Donna". My family and friends now love to call me with my nick as "Hon". Don't ask me why I got such alias, I even wonder why my Papa loved that name.
So why did I choose to be a "raita Hon" here? It's simply because "raita" is a Japanese term for writer. During my childhood days, I used to spin tales, to write poems and to make comic strips. I really dreamed to be a writer someday but due to poverty, my parents could not afford my dream course so I ended up taking Bachelor in Elementary Education. And so, here I am...an elementary rabbi teaching English. I can't imagine transforming myself from a reserved, nonchalant, often keeping a low profile, afraid of the spotlight, but over time would become a teacher who will always have to speak up in front of the class, of the crowd and become an inspiration to my learners for them to strive hard. I am into my profession for twenty years up to present.
Who would have thought that a two-month old bf and gf relationship without a label and ended way back 2005 and after two years being reunited would last up to 18 years and counting? Wooahh!
"Love is sweeter the second time around indeed." Meet the love of my life...Tops. He is my best friend and my worst enemy too but we manage to stay in love. Wanna know our secret? It is God who is the center of our marriage life.
I am a very patient and dedicated woman in everything I do but what I love the most is simply being a housewife and mom for my two amazing kids - Gift and Given. They are truly God-sent to brighten my days and fuel my engine whenever it dries up. They are my inspiration and my stirring wheel when I am lost aside from God. My heart will always find its home to them.
For now, I consider myself as "ausome" mom 'cause my youngest son is in the autism spectrum. I would love to share my day to day write-ups on how I manage the stress, my time in balancing everything that I need to do, on how I am able to make the ends meet to sustain his therapy, his schooling, his tutorials and other trainings he needs. The journey is not easy but it's all worth it. I am with him always as he hits every milestone of his ausome journey.
Obviously, my inner journalist was tucked away for a while but gladly I found my way back to my first love....the writing. With this, I can burst out my insights and let my emotions be heard through this blog writing introduced by Miss @antonette.
With this site, I am home..home to share my ups and downs and flare up anything inside. I do hope you will enjoy every pages of my stories. My photos are mine but enhanced by the use of Canva. Thank you and happy reading!
