Hello dear Ecotrain community:
Faced with this question there are several options to answer, some similar, others dissimilar. I thought about it for a long time and something in common converged, perseverance and resilience in one way or another.
I am going to share some of my arguments, which although they are personal perceptions, it is pleasing to do so as a form of reflection out loud, in which I appreciate your comments.
The complexity and uncertainty of the world has increased surprisingly in the last two years, the Covid pandemic has changed our lives, from communicating, relating, working, shopping, moving, everything has changed abruptly and radically, the "new reality" has emerged, characterised by the intensive use of the internet and social networks, virtuality in all its expressions to avoid physical contacts and encounters.
The indefinite duration of this situation, the waves of the virus that come and go, the increasing number of infections and deaths, and the effectiveness of measures to deal with them, create a panorama of many fluctuations and disturbances, which in one way or another shake the deepest foundations of being, including the fragility of life and health.
Likewise, socio-economic and political events in our localities are becoming turbulent, contradictory and without a clear direction towards integral well-being, peace and freedom. Deeds and actions often do not match words.
On the other hand, nature is demanding attention due to the impacts it is suffering, increasing climate change, the greenhouse effect, loss of biodiversity, desertification and natural disasters.
There is no planning or forecasting capable of considering the complicated and surprising possibilities that may arise, in our convulsive planet and localities.
The variety and magnitude of the changes are unimaginable and extraordinary.
The capacity to respond or participate in problem solving is daunting and overwhelming, and even more so if we want to achieve results in the short term.
For this reason, what is the best kind of action, the one that includes perseverance, i.e. not giving up, not abandoning action.
Action can be extraordinary, the best of the best, but if you neglect it, abandon it, don't work on it, it is of no use no matter how marvellous it is.
While it is true that there are moments of scepticism, tiredness or dissatisfaction that are inherent to human nature, this should not be sufficient or the only reason not to continue with the actions.
In these cases, it is necessary to review and be resilient, usually the roads have obstacles and some are more inhospitable than others, there are even storms and storm clouds, all of them products of the current complexity and uncertainty, then this is part of the journey of life, a challenge and opportunity to evolve and emerge stronger from the experience.
In any action where perseverance and resilience are implicit, it is more feasible to obtain results, we learn to learn from each circumstance that we live, keeping clear the intention of our action and also, of course, keeping in mind the limitations, restrictions and consequences of our actions.
To all of the above, to conclude, we must add a phrase whose author I do not remember says the following "the best action is the one we put into practice, and it does not remain on paper or only in good intentions".
