You deposit your money in financial institutions and make transactions. That's your money, so you can do whatever you want. You can transfer your money or withdraw your money at any time.
If someone says you cannot withdraw your money, you don't believe him because it does not happen to you. That's your money, so you have total control. There is a system in place and it works well until it does not. When you cannot withdraw your money, that time you realize how much control you have.
Financial institutions can put restrictions on your account or make it difficult for you to withdraw your money. It happens in a smooth way that you may not realize at the beginning. You want to withdraw money from Paypal, it says they need to check a couple of things on your account and let you know in 24 hours.
You are surprised to see that. Wait for 24 hours, and the next thing you know that you cannot withdraw your money or make a payment. They say there are significant changes in your account. But you are pretty sure that you did not make any change and there is supposed to be no change in your account.
They need more information and you have to submit different documents. After submitting all documents they ask for, you think everything will be okay. They notify you that they are reviewing your account and it will take 3 business days.
Again you have to wait for three days. Later, they inform you that certain features of your account are limited and they need more information. You have already submitted everything they ask for, what else do they need?
You are on the waiting list again. Then it seems your account is okay, but when you check out the withdrawal status, it says your transfer will be delayed. You are still on the waiting list. That's your money, you are supposed to have full control. Later they say they need more time for security reasons.
They do one thing after another to delay the withdrawal. People have negative experiences like this. You cannot imagine that you will be unable to withdraw money from your bank. Customers went to the bank and attempted to withdraw their own money at gunpoint. It seems crazy but things like that happened in Lebanon.
When you have cryptocurrency in your wallet, you are in control. You can transfer it anywhere at any time. Cryptocurrency ensures your freedom, ownership, and control. No one can take it away from you as long as you hold your keys.
