Having grown up in a very remote location (with electricity and running water and eventually with internet) and then moving into "the big smoke" (not even that big compared to other cities and also the remotest capital city in the world apparently) I find that the amount of work and costs eventually even out either way, it's entirely dependent on what you choose to put up with and what your health allows.
Completely off grid like that is a whole other thing that I refuse to tolerate given that I'm a digital artist XD
I forget, did you have a house on there you're doing up or you're going to build one or it's just yurt life?
