Greetings friends of Alien art Hive, I hope you are well. Today I want to share with you my entry to the Splinterlands weekly art contest, the character I chose was Coastal Sentry, I made an adaptation to my style of the character so it's not 100% identical to the character. I wanted to give him a more tender look if you could say that way or innocent, something opposite to aggressiveness. In this illustration we used many of the usual brushes being the only new one the wet skin effect, I think I have better results when I do it from 0 but you know as I say it's always good to experiment something new. Well friends I hope you like it.

Saludos amigos de Alien art Hive, espero estén bien. Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes mi entrada al concurso de arte semanal de Splinterlands, el personaje que elegí fue Coastal Sentry, hice una adaptación a mi estilo del personaje por lo que no es 100% idéntico al mismo. Quise darle una mirada mas tierna si podría decirse de esa forma o inocente, algo opuesto a la agresividad. En esta ilustración usamos muchos de los pinceles de siempre siendo el único nuevo el de efecto de piel mojada, creo que tengo mejores resultados cuando lo hago desde 0 pero ya saben como digo siempre es bueno experimentar algo nuevo. Bien amigos espero sea de su agrado.

Process/Proceso

Creation of the sketch, as usual, I always make a sketch or shape in blue before making the final sketch and finally the lineart.
in this drawing the main detail is the harpoon that the character has.

Creación del boceto, como es costumbre, siempre hago un boceto o forma en azul antes de hacer el boceto final y finalmente el lineart.
en este dibujo el mayor detalle se lo lleva el arpón que tiene el personaje .

We apply the base color, in this illustration the dominant palette is cold tones.

We started the stage of the details from the bottom, I was inspired by a beach where I usually go a lot “baia de cata”.
The skin of the character is the part that took the longest time, after blurring a couple of times I applied more solid colors and finally gloss.
when this part was ready I applied a water effect on his skin with a new brush, at the end I'm not sure if it shows at all.

Empezamos la etapa de los detalles desde el fondo, me inspire en una playa a la que suelo ir muchísimo "baia de cata".
la piel del personaje es la parte que mas tiempo tomo, luego de difuminar un par de veces aplique colores mas sólidos y finalmente brillo.
al tener esta parte lista aplique efecto de agua sobre su piel con un pincel nuevo, al final no estoy muy seguro si se nota del todo.

The rest of the details are mostly on her weapon, which I wanted to give a gold effect. I applied this same effect on her earrings and bracelets.
A detail that I forgot to mention is that in a layer over all of them I applied a little water effect below to give the sensation that the character is inside the water.

el resto de los detalles se van mayormente en su arma, la cual quise darle un efecto de oro. este mismo efecto lo aplique en sus aretes y pulseras.
Un detalle que olvide mencionar es que en una capa sobre todas aplique un poco de efecto de agua abajo para dar la sensación de que el personaje está dentro del agua.

to finish we give the final details and reinforce the eyelashes. the eyes are the part that give life to this kind of illustrations.
I wanted to correct the colors a little bit and make them darker but I feel they are fine.

para finalizar damos los detalles finales y reforzamos las pestañas. los ojos son la parte que le dan vida a este tipo de ilustraciones.
Quería corregir un poco los colores y ponerlos mas oscuros pero siento que asi estan bien

Friends we arrived at the end, I hope you liked it, in my next illustration I am thinking of adding a detail as a contest “ if a contest within the contest” the prize would not be much because I will pay it out of my pocket : “3 but I want to test a theory.
