The girl and the mushroom

Greetings dear friends, I hope you are very well.
This week I wanted to make a big effort and dedicate as much time as possible to my illustration.
Fungus Flinger human version is an idea that several artists did in their version, this time I want to try it myself and do my version of the character, I wanted to do everything possible to redesign the character and make it as faithful as possible to the original while maintaining its human version.
I paid special attention to the background detail and lighting, something I wanted to highlight was the look or expression of the original character I think I achieved a very good result. without further introduction.

Saludos apreciados amigos espero estén muy bien.
Esta semana quise hacer un gran esfuerzo y dedicar todo el tiempo posible a mi ilustración.
Fungus Flinger versión humana es una idea que varios artistas hicieron en su versión, esta vez quiero intentarlo yo y hacer mi versión del personaje, quise hacer todo lo posible para rediseñar el personaje y hacerlo lo mas fiel posible al original manteniendo su versión humana.
Preste especial atención al detalle de fondo e iluminación, algo que quise resaltar fue la mirada o expresión del personaje original creo que logre un muy buen resultado. sin mas introducción.

Process/Proceso
We started the sketch, I had a somewhat different idea, starting, I wanted to add more mushrooms like the original but I feel that it would look very weird, so I left two and then just leave the main one and one on his shoulder.
The finished sketch is in red color, here we can appreciate the details of the skin, I think they are crystals, I also had the idea to add more fog but in the end I decided not to abuse that resource.
once ready the sketch and the main idea we do the lineart, I'm using a different brush, I think I like this one a lot for the result it gives.
Iniciamos el boceto, tenia una idea algo diferente, empezando, quería agregar mas hongos como el original pero siento que se vería muy rara, asi que deje dos para luego solo dejar el principal y uno en su hombro.
el boceto terminado esta en color rojo, aqui podemos apreciar los detalles de la piel creo que son cristales, tambien tenia como idea agregar mas niebla pero al final decidí no abusar de ese recurso.
una vez listo el boceto y la idea principal hacemos el lineart, estoy usando un pincel diferente, creo que este me gusta mucho por el resultado que da
We applied the base color, this took me a while to decide if I wanted to be faithful to the original design or experiment with new ways of doing it.
A mostly dark background will give much more contrast to the fog and other effects I plan to add in the future.
Aplicamos el color base, esto me llevo un rato en decidir si quería ser fiel al diseño original o experimentar con nuevas forma de hacerlo.
Un fondo mayormente oscuro le dará mucho mas contraste a la niebla y otros efectos que pienso agregar a futuro.
We start with the background, a soft blue light, and from this we add other details, like other small mushrooms, lights falling.
a curious fact for these lights I was inspired by a kind of luminous worm that lives in caves and catches its prey like this.
in my case I wanted to make only the glowing liquid as if it was coming out of the mushrooms.
the skin has green and red tones “they are complementary colors” these should look good together, anyway this is one of those “trust the process” experiments.
when we finish applying the shadows and colors on the skin we add the light, I have thought that the light source should be the bottom of the mushroom. this is important to take into account because everything must have a logic.
Iniciamos con el fondo, una suave luz azul, y a partir de esto vamos sumando otros detalles. como otros pequeños hongos, luces cayendo.
un dato curioso para estas luces me inspiré en una especie de gusano luminoso que vive en las cuevas y atrapa a sus presas asi.
en mi caso quise hacer solo el líquido brilloso como si este saliera de los hongos.
la piel tiene tonos verdes y rojos " son colores complementarios" estos deberían verse bien juntos, en fin este es uno de esos experimentos de " confía en el proceso".
al terminar de aplicar las sombras y colores en la piel agregamos la luz, tengo pensado que la fuente de luz sea la parte de abajo del hongo. esto es importante de tener en cuanta pues todo debe tener una lógica.
After applying all the light on the skin, we can say that this was the most time-consuming stage.
Now we can work on the mushroom and other parts.
For the hair I wanted to be daring and apply strong lights with very vivid tones, I think the result was good.
As you could notice I was adding details in other parts and correcting some others, it is a somewhat tedious process but the final result is worth it.
Después de aplicar toda la luz en la piel, podemos decir que esta fue la etapa que más tiempo demando.
Ahora podemos trabajar en el hongo y otras partes.
Para el cabello quise ser atrevido y aplicar luces fuertes con tonos muy vivos, creo que el resultado fue bueno.
como pudieron notar fui agregando detalles en otras partes y corrigiendo algunos otros, es un proceso algo tedioso pero el resultado final vale la pena.
Finally we worked on the eyes, I wanted to make eyes similar to the original character to maintain what that look transmits.
We also added a kind of blue liquid among other small details.
I wanted to modify the color a little bit, but I'm really happy with the original result.
Para finalizar trabajamos en los ojos, quise hacer unos ojos parecidos al personaje original para mantener lo que transmite esa mirada.
también agregamos una especie de líquido azul entre otros pequeños detalles.
Quería modificar un poco el color, pero estoy realmente conforme con el resultado original.
