Hi there, I hope you are very well.
Glad to be with you once again sharing in the splinterlands weekly art contest.
This week I wanted to dedicate the necessary attention and time to this illustration, I chose the character Sola Ranjell is a card that I have not yet had the opportunity to use in the game, but I really liked the character design and I wanted to develop it in an illustration.
In the reference the character is shown sideways, this does not let you see the front design so we must use our imagination and creativity to draw it in other positions.
I wanted to give it an antique atmosphere of the castle era and add other details besides the character to complement the work.
I really liked the result and I hope you did too, I put a lot of effort to finish it and I think it was worth every hour of work.

Hola amigos, espero estén muy bien.
Me alegra estar con ustedes una vez más compartiendo en el concurso de arte semanal de splinterlands.
Esta semana quise dedicarle la atención y el tiempo necesario a esta ilustración, Elegí el personaje Sola Ranjell es una carta que aún no tengo la oportunidad de usar en el juego, pero me gusto muchísimo el diseño del personaje y lo quise desarrollarlo en una ilustración.
En la referencia se muestra el personaje de lado, esto no deja ver el diseño frontal por lo que debemos usar la imaginación y creatividad para dibujarla en otras posiciones.
Quise darle un ambiente antiguo de la época de los castillos y agregar otros detalles además del personaje para complementar la obra.
Me gusto muchísimo el resultado y espero que a ustedes también le puse muchísimo esfuerzo en terminarlo y creo que valió cada hora de trabajo.

Process/Proceso
Summarizing the sketch stage, we start with the basic shape of the character, initially I wanted to draw the character in a field or a free environment, but I changed my mind and decided for a room, the character sketch I developed in several phases where I was correcting and adding details one of the most difficult was the hair I wanted to give some natural volume, but taking into account that in this room there are no drafts, once the sketch is ready we can continue with the next stage.
Resumiendo la etapa del boceto, iniciamos con la forma básica del personaje, inicialmente quería dibujar al personaje en un campo o un ambiente libre, pero cambie de idea y decidí por una habitación, el boceto del personaje lo desarrolle en varias fases donde fui corrigiendo y agregando detalles uno de los que más dificultad me presento fue el cabello quería darle algo de volumen natural, pero teniendo en cuenta que en esta habitación no existe corrientes de aire, una vez listo el boceto podemos continuar con la siguiente etapa.
With the sketch finished we can continue with the lineart stage, on a new layer and a 60% opacity brush we create the lineart, this phase takes time but not as long as the creation and correction of the sketch.
Con el boceto terminado podemos seguir con la etapa del lineart, sobre una nueva capa y un pincel de opacidad 60% creamos el lineart, esta fase toma tiempo pero no tanto como la creación y corrección del boceto.
Now we can add all the base color, for this we will use a palette similar to those of the reference, but as is my habit I usually use not so saturated colors, I can say that each color has its corresponding layer, this will be very useful when editing or applying textures.
Ahora podemos agregar todo el color base, para ello utilizaremos una paleta similar a los de la referencia, pero como es mi costumbre suelo usar colores no tan saturados, puedo decir que cada color tiene su capa correspondiente, esto será muy útil al momento de editar o aplicar texturas.
We started with the skin, as you could notice the darkest tone was the base color, I did this because the shadow was bigger than the illuminated area, as a subtle detail I applied small touches of reddish color in some areas of the skin and then blurred it to integrate it better.
Something important not to forget is the two main sources of light when adding all the shading.
Empezamos por la piel, como pudieron notar el tono más oscuro fue el color de base, esto lo hice porque la sombra era mayor al de la zona iluminada, como detalle sutil aplique pequeños toques de color rojizo en algunas zonas de la piel y luego difumine para que se integrara mejor.
Algo importante que no se debe olvidar son las dos fuentes principales de luz al momento de agregar todo él sombreado.
We continue with the clothes, to start we make use of the aerosol brush and after blurring we give details with another more solid brush, we must always keep in mind that the lights must have logic.
Seguimos con la ropa, para iniciar hacemos uso del pincel de aerosol y luego de difuminar damos detalles con otro pincel más sólido, hay que tener siempre en cuenta que las luces deben tener lógica.
As with the skin, the dominant color in the hair is the shade, and the only thing left to do is to add highlights in certain areas that interact with the light source.
Likewise, I added details to the objects that decorate the character, such as the belt, crown and weapons.
Al igual que la piel, el color dominante en el cabello es el de sombra, ya solo queda agregar luces en ciertas zonas que interactúan con la fuente de luz.
De igual forma, agregué detalles a los objetos que decoran el personaje, como el cinturón, corona y armas.
Small details without apparent importance, but that add a lot to the final result, I really liked what I did with these apples.
I also wanted to add some wilted sunflowers, but I feel it would look too much like an existing painting by van gogh hehe, for time reasons I wanted to leave it like that.
Pequeños detalles sin aparente importancia, pero que suman muchísimo al resultado final, realmente me gusto mucho lo que hice con estas manzanas.
también quería agregar unos girasoles marchitos, pero siento que se iba a parecer mucho a una pintura ya existente de van gogh jeje, por cuestiones de tiempo quise dejarlo asi.
We finished with the details such as jewelry and lights, I also want to emphasize that I modified the color tone of the dress, this to make it look much more like the original character.
Now that everything is ready we can focus on the background of the illustration, we kept the sketch layer, since there are areas without lineart.
Terminamos con los detalles como joyas y luces, también quiero resaltar que modifique el tono de color del vestido, esto para que se parezca mucho más al personaje original.
Ahora que todo está listo podemos centrarnos en el fondo de la ilustración, mantuvimos la capa de boceto, ya que hay zonas sin lineart.
I didn't want to put so much detail in the background, for time reasons and not to detract from the foreground, I think a background that is not so saturated looks very good.
No quise ponerle tantos detalles al fondo, por cuestiones de tiempo y no restar importancia al primer plano, creo que un fondo no tan saturado queda muy bien.
To finish we added magic effects on the spear and some reflections on the wooden table are very beautiful, they give the sensation of polished wood.
Para terminar agregamos efectos de magia en la lanza y algunos reflejos en la mesa de madera quedan muy hermosos, dan la sensación de madera pulida.
