There are different ways people respond to situations. Some vent out their anger and curse, this doesn't go farther than the circle of people who can hear his ranting, it's never effective. Most of the actions we take never reach the top, it hardly gets to the people whom the message is intended to reach out to. I had weighed different actions, their pros and cons and I realized no action is 100% effective when it comes to dealing with people at the top position. At some level, vlogging had produced results but it lasted just for a little moment, the effect endured just for a little while. Writing and blogging only create a disturbance for a while among the masses and after a few weeks, the heat goes down. Voting may seem a bit effective in the Western countries where the voting poll is digital and the count is read by everyone, but not in Nigeria, elections are rigged and most times people in position buy their way through the system, they have this mentality of buying their way with money and it had worked so far, the people in position has a high level of autonomy.
Protest and rally in my opinion is the less effective of other actions here in Nigeria. It is seen as normal, the government doesn't respond to it and it never produces any result. Some time ago, a group of teachers came out to rally/protest for an increment in salary. They walked around the street with cardboard paper written on them about what they wanted and the injustice they faced- it never worked, the government did not respond to it, the day went out without a result. The teachers returned to their place of work with the assumption that the day was at least productive when in fact, it was a wasted day.
Let me show you one kind of action that works, it has worked for generations and is still working till date. Let me take you back to the people of Bethel who reached an agreement to build a tower so high until it reaches heaven. The bible recorded that they had one voice, one mind, one goal, and one drive. What was unique about them wasn't their strength, it wasn't their expertise in architectural designs or building. What was unique about them was their "unity", that even the heavens couldn't stop them until they were divided. One man can't bring results without the backing of the masses, and that's the reason why a king's right man who wants to dethrone a king forcefully first buys the heart of the people working with the king. It's never a one man work, it's always a team work.
In my opinion, going for a strike is the most effective. that will have to do with a sector or an organization, I have seen that work though the result comes slowly. Our leaders here in Nigeria have the stone of heart and they meander through because of our disunity. Strike works more than any other actions that have been taken because it shows the groups are united. When it comes to individual response to situations, just 2% produce results out of the 100% percent. My point is, a group action with people of like minds works wonders and produces more results. If you've been cheated, look for people who have been cheated in the past with the same story and come to a consensus, whatever you come up with as a group has more tendency to reach the top than the individual fight. Even vlogs and blogs go viral and produce results when people start to share and consider it a pain to them also. Group action of people with one mind is the best kind of action.
