Y si nos vamos las dos solas a la playa?
Así de simple lo decidimos, después de ignorar unos cuantos peros nos fuimos a Choroní. Qué mejor manera de pasar un domingo? Lo disfrutamos desde el inicio, embelesadas con las majestuosas montañas tan vivas y tan verdes de nuestro PN Henri Pittier. Una vista maravillosa que nos acompañó hasta la entrada del pueblo, donde disfrutamos de otro clima, de otro escenario.
What if we go to the beach, just you and me?
Just like that we decided, after ignoring a few buts we went to Choroní. What better way to spend a Sunday? We enjoyed it from the beginning, enraptured by the majestic mountains so alive and so green of our National Park Henri Pittier. A wonderful view that accompanied us to the entrance of the village, where we enjoyed another climate, another scenario.
Llegamos tarde al pueblo así que nos fuimos a la playa rapidito, sin dar tantas vueltas. Nos pusimos bastante protector solar y como niñas chiquitas esperamos ansiosamente a que se absorbiera para meternos al agua sin preocupaciones.
We arrived late to the village so we went to the beach quickly, without walking around so much. We put on plenty of sunscreen and like little girls we waited anxiously for it to be absorbed so we could go into the water without any worries.
A Playa Grande hay que respetarla. Te metes y por 10 metros el agua te llega a los tobillos, pero si te descuidas en cualquier momento te llega al cuello. Por tal razón y al igual que todos los niños, me bañé en la orilla. Envidiando a varios de ellos que tenían un bodyboard y eran lo suficientemente osados para meterse mucho más adentro.
Playa Grande must be respected. You go in and for 10 meters the water reaches your ankles, but if you are careless, at any moment it reaches your neck. For this reason and like all the children, I bathed on the shore. I envied several of them who had a bodyboard and were daring enough to go much deeper.
Con el sol en su punto más fuerte y cansadas de luchar con la corriente salimos del agua y nos sentamos a descansar. Nos refrescamos con unas tizanas divinas que nos ofreció un vendedor de la zona.
With the sun at its strongest and tired from struggling with the current, we got out of the water and sat down to rest. We refreshed ourselves with some divine tizanas offered by a local vendor.
Hacía años que mi amiga no iba a la playa, así que se imaginan lo felices que estábamos! Por supuesto, y como ya es costumbre para mí, tomamos muchísimas fotos, aunque no logramos captar todas los matices de azul del mar y lo bonito que se veía el degradado.
It had been years since my friend had been to the beach, so you can imagine how happy we were! Of course, and as usual for me, we took lots of pictures, although we didn't manage to capture all the shades of blue of the sea and how beautiful the gradient looked.
Al igual que en nuestra aventura pasada conversamos de muchas cosas muy interesantes, esta vez con mucha más calma que la vez anterior. Aproveché la oportunidad para llevarme el collar y pulsera que Ivonne me regaló para hacerles una especie de limpieza. Soy nueva en esto de los cuarzos y piedras así que solo seguí instrucciones.
As in our last adventure we talked about many interesting things, this time much more calmly than the previous time. I took the opportunity to take the necklace and bracelet that Ivonne gave me to do a kind of cleaning. I am new to quartz and stones so I just followed instructions.
Después de 4 horas de agua salada nos fuimos de vuelta al pueblo para echarnos un baño de agua de río. En el camino de regreso encontramos una tienda bastante colorida que llamó nuestra atención. Afuera había par de gatitos así que, como catlovers que somos —Ivonne tiene 6 gatos—, nos detuvimos a fotografiarlos. La dueña al vernos tomando fotos nos invitó a pasar, resulta que es una pequeña galería que expone artistas locales. La encargada nos habló un poco de los artistas y su origen, nosotras quedamos encantadas con los cuadros y los colores. Con lo pintoresco del lugar y con la buena atención.
After 4 hours of salt water we went back to the village to take a bath in the river water. On the way back we found a rather colorful store that caught our attention. Outside there were a couple of kittens so, as catlovers we are —Ivonne has 6 cats—, we stopped to take pictures of them. The owner saw us taking pictures and invited us in, it turns out it is a small gallery that exhibits national artists. The person in charge told us a little about the artists and their origin, we were delighted with the paintings and the colors. With the picturesque of the place and the good service.
Continuamos con nuestro camino y nos paramos en un pequeño local de comida ubicado a la orilla del río. Pedimos par de empanadas de pescado y mientras las cocinaban nos dimos un baño en el río. Nos sacamos la sal y una vez fresquitas y con ropa seca, nos sentamos a comer lo que sería nuestro almuerzo, delicioso!
We continued on our way and stopped at a small food place located on the river side. We ordered a couple of fish empanadas and while they were cooking them we took a dip in the river. We took off the salt and once we were fresh and with dry clothes, we sat down to eat what would be our lunch. Delicious!
Llegamos a casa a las 7 de la noche. Al día siguiente mi amiga se iría de viaje así que nos alegramos de que pudiera disfrutar de nuestras playas tan sabrosas antes de irse de nuevo. Espero que vuelva pronto para seguir visitando rinconcitos de nuestro país.
We arrived home at 7 pm. The next day my friend was going on a trip so we were glad she could enjoy our beautiful beaches before she left again. I hope she will be back soon to continue visiting little corners of our country.
