Celebrations in our family is quite simple. It's always full of life, color, and food. But Ashley’s 13th birthday was something extra special. As my sweet niece turned another year older, we turned our humble kitchen into a feast-filled party place, filled with laughter, BTS-inspired surprises, and lots of kakanin.
Ashley’s love for BTS truly came alive on her cake, a pastel pink masterpiece crowned with cut-outs of her favorite idols, surrounded by charming BT21 characters. Her smile said it all the moment she saw it. And beside the cake was a tower of rich chocolate cupcakes, each one topped with BTS toppers and creamy white frosting with sprinkles, K-pop meets sweet tooth heaven.
The food spread was a beautiful combination of Filipino tradition and family love. On the table were classics we all grew up loving, the golden brown lumpia, adobo, menudo, pancit, spaghetti, grilled fish, sweet corn, sweet potato, fried chicken, and generous trays of soft and chewy sapin-sapin and pichi-pichi topped with fresh coconut and of course rice is always present at all occasions. ☺️ There was something for everyone, and no plate was left empty for long.
What made this day truly meaningful was not just the food or the decorations, it was the family chitchats that filled the house. While we enjoyed the delicious feast, we shared stories, teased one another, laughed out loud, and caught up on life. It was one of those simple moments where the joy of togetherness could be felt so deeply with plates of food and heartfelt conversations.
Ashley looked so grown-up in her red shirt and pink headband, standing behind her BTS cake with that quiet confidence and sparkle in her eyes. Surrounded by cousins, titas, titos, lolas and her proud parents, she knew she was loved.
Happy birthday, Ashley! Keep dancing to your own rhythm whether it’s to a BTS beat or your own dreams. ❤️
